BestBuy: Galaxy Note 8 Pre-Order Thread

So mine has been on preparing for almost 24 hours now. So I went to the AT&T store and they have them in stock but won't sell it to me. I don't know which is worse BestBuy or AT&T
 
after only ever dealing with Sprint for orders I'm feeling discouraged about this time. thought sure we'd get shipping with the rest but starting to feel like we're not.

Its not that they wont sell, i said it before, manufactures have often told stores they cant sell in store prior to launch date. Which could be why instore purchases for in store pick up arent being given early.
 
I went in the store yesterday to preorder version at full price payment and they refused unless I signed up for Service with them, so I refused and left with my money , they said I would half to wait until after the 15th and stock on hand to purchase outright no contract
 
I called the automated line and it said my order was ready for pickup, but I chose delivery. My online status still says that my card is awaiting authorization. I'm so annoyed.
 
I did the same for the s8, they won't let u do it. So I paid full price payment on their website with no issues.
 
I called again and it says it's still being prepared. I just need to stop checking before I drive myself nuts. Lol.
 
I ordered in store for the s8+ and was told i couldnt get the free gifts if i ordered online. People that ordered online began getting them a couple days before launch, clearly not this early but earlier. My concern was not getting the samsung offer so i picked mine up at 10 am on launch day and sure enough the bundles were gone later that day. I got mine but it was close. So i would never do instore pickup again. My cc has my payment pending but still at processing. BB ordered online, orchid gray, Verizon
 
I went up to my local Bestbuy and asked if they will be releasing the note early for in-store pre-orders. They said no, and I told them that literally every carrier including Samsung is shipping them early and people have already received them. The associate then told me the phones are already there and he called the manager to see if they could release them. The manager said no and stated that anyone that shipped them early broke protocol. So now my note 8 is sitting in a cabinet 5 minutes away and I can't pick it up for another week. Bestbuy is ridiculous....

Well, that manager can take it up with Best Buy Corporate, as they have also shipped their phones to customers. Don't trust CSR's or in-store reps to be much help. Here are the corporate contacts that might be of some help. If nothing else, perhaps they can let stores know that it is OK to start calling customers to get their phones.

Mine did the same thing all day yesterday, and it just moved to shipped today, I got the tracking from the rep yesterday.

Wow... you are right, the online updates can be out of date. I called, and I hate people who nag customer service people with questions that they should be able to answer on their own... but yes, my unit shows as preparing on my side, but their system shows it as awaiting UPS pick up. She said it should be here tomorrow. It is shipping from literally right down the street. Who knew it was even there. Awesome.
 
My phone has spent a full day driving around Ohio, no closer to South Florida than yesterday. Thinkin BB shipping coordinators may be a card short of a full deck! No wonder I won't get it until Friday

Feeling a bit better. While the website and automated phone still says "preparing", I spoke with a live person and she shows the phone is awaiting UPS pickup 30 miles from my house. She also gave me the UPS tracking number which is not yet in UPS' system. Holding breath that I get it tomorrow as I leave Friday morning early for a 1 week business trip. If yours still says pending and has for some time, call Best Buy at (888) 237-8289 and then press 0 to talk with a live person (Have your order number and details ready)

no help here. nice rep and we had a great chat about the pre-order, but all remains the same. I don't think she was allowed the same screens as your rep. tried the main person that answered and asked to be transferred to the cell dept. no joy.
