Ebay already has fake Otterbox Defender Note 8 cases. I ordered one but ebay canceled transaction due to sellers account issues. I got my money back and bought case else where. Yesterday, mailman delivered strange package from China marked as makeup product which is defender case for which i did not pay. Well, it is fake. Inner plastic shell is too white and outside silicone too blue, barcode sticker has wrong upc number, etc.

It's been a while, but I have heard of fake Otterboxes before. It almost makes you want to order directly from the OEM themselves.

It pays to buy the original. I know they are not cheap however when you have a $1,000 phone that is not the time to get frugal about a case. The Defender is the best protection you can get.

I've purchased knock off Otter box cases in the past from flea markets as well as online. But!!! they were not trying to deceive anyone by saying they were selling an OEM Otter box case, especially if they're only charging $15 for it. It's sad that some sellers will use EBay, Or even Amazon to deceive people. I make a point of checking a seller's feedback and ratings before I buy for less chance of being scammed.

Usually the generic ones will have something slightly different on them to make them slightly off to avoid patent issues I guess. I bought one for my S7 and thought it was decent for the price and offered the same protection. I see nothing wrong with buying a knock off that's cheap and offers similar protection. I bought the $60 authentic at Verizon because I wanted it before I got the phone to make sure I had a good case. Yea, I probably shoudl have stuck with the Caseology Legion and waited for the generic Defenders to show up for $15 on Amazon.
