Beware of Galaxy S8 upgrade

After reading this thread and checking out the link from ScottsonNJ, I think this merits Android Central doing a story on this...I think it's HORRIBLE that Samsung appears to be doing this and yet no Android Blog sites are calling them out on it.

I have a S8. The first Samsung phone I have ever owned and I like it. I was looking forward to trading it in someday on a future model...

I would be extremely leary of trading in a phone with Samsung.

go very public, not just with forums, though the multiple warnings are appreciated. File complaints with FTC, BBB, ConsumersReport, and every related consumer's organization. If enough same complaints are registered, some lawyer might organize a class action suite. Really stinks. You would think they would be more solicitous after their last battery fiasco.

Obviously ppl are sending in defective phones that do not qualify because of damage, etc. Checked BBB in several states and no verified reports about this issue anywhere.

So everybody is lying?
Or maybe you work for Samsung?

Just quit messing with samsung trade ins. With fine text that says "if we choose to reject your phone for what ever reason we still get to keep the phone.. bai" you are just asking to get screwed. You are literally gambling on your trade in.

Nuts. This violates several state and federal laws. They must offer to return the rejected device.

Contact your state AG office.
