After reading this thread and checking out the link from ScottsonNJ, I think this merits Android Central doing a story on this...I think it's HORRIBLE that Samsung appears to be doing this and yet no Android Blog sites are calling them out on it.
I have a S8. The first Samsung phone I have ever owned and I like it. I was looking forward to trading it in someday on a future model...
You would think they would be more solicitous after their last battery fiasco.
Obviously ppl are sending in defective phones that do not qualify because of damage, etc. Checked BBB in several states and no verified reports about this issue anywhere.
Just quit messing with samsung trade ins. With fine text that says "if we choose to reject your phone for what ever reason we still get to keep the phone.. bai" you are just asking to get screwed. You are literally gambling on your trade in.
