Big Red Galaxy Nexus getting 4.0.4 IMM76K?

Strange. I can now record in 1080p and use the light. Very strange how the options weren't available at first...

Quick, stupid question.

A couple months ago I did the whole unlock/root thing with the 4.0.4 leak. I have since returned to what I think it stock. I am no longer unlocked or rooted but I have a question about radios. I am running 1515.09 V.FA02 / 1515.FA02? Is there anything I need to do in order to make sure I receive the OTA update....when Big Red pushes it out to the rest of us unwashed masses?

Thanks.

You'll have to be on 4.0.2. Usually, if you're not on their "stock" software, the update won't "take." Right now, stock to them is 4.0.2.

Also, that radio package is basically the same as the one we have here ;).

Cool, thanks. I am on 4.0.2 currently. I just didn't know if a radio difference would be an issue. I experimented a little with the 4.0.4 leak back in February, but I think there was some user error in the process and I was having minor issues that no one else was so I did what I could to go back to stock and decided to play the patience game...a simple game but difficult to master.

No worries. If you want to flash the radios--and just them--that option is available and we can walk you through it.

The new radios were bad for me I dropped to -93dbm

I'm always on!

Wow. Tech support just informed me that they have no info on an update even being in the works for the Gnex. The person I spoke with claimed Verizon has nothing to do with the updates. They come from Google and Samsung, and Verizon doesn't even know about them until they are informed by Google and Samsung a few days before they recieve it.

Come on Verizon I have allot of respect for someone if they give me straight honest answers.

Same old story same old song and dance.

DRIPPLER is reporting that at least two users have confirmed that they have just received 4.0.4 OTA......

is this troll post?

Not trying to be condescending, but thats exactly how the update process goes. Verizon doesnt ship out the nexus updates, google does. Verizon TESTS them before they go out on their network, but ultimately it is google that releases them.

It would also make sense that they know nothing about the update yet if this is just a soak test. No sense telling verizon the update is rolling out if they havent deployed on a massive scale yet.

If it was a troll post I would be talking about how the nexus sucks and my "insert your phone here" rocks.

I do not believe for one minute that Verizon is so out of the loop that they don't even know if an update is in the works. I'm sure they know an update is being planned if they had to test it, so at least they could be honest about it. Others have posted saying reps have said an update is rolling out, some have said after calling it had been pushed to their phone.

Either Verizon knows or they don't but they need to get their story straight one way or another.

By the way was your post a troll post?

I spoke to tech today too and though they said something similar she did confirm that the update was being pushed by Samsung and is going to corp and test devices for now. Full push after.

Yup she said her info said being pushed by Samsung.

This is the tracker link at google for the mute call issue.

Issue 24019 - android - Galaxy Nexus mutes mid-call - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting

Basically, the phone will randomly stop transmitting voice audio mid-call. You can still hear the person on the other end of the call, but they cannot hear you. Once it happens, you must hang up and redial to 'reset' the audio. It is a big finger pointing drama between big red, sammy, and google. I just hope it is finally fixed.

Well, after running with the new software for a day, I can safely say that it does NOT fix the mute call issue. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Just a FYI, Samsung and google make the builds. Then they ask VZw to put it on there test server and only push to internal devices for testing. Then once all the bugs are reported and the build meets the Requirements then VZW loads it to thier production server and Imei blocks of cetain range start to get the OTA/FOTA pushed to large groups until everyone has it. So VZW knows everything about when and where the builds are going out.
