Big Red Galaxy Nexus getting 4.0.4 IMM76K?

No. I will be reverting to stock and setting up an official thread tomorrow.

Essentially, you need to be on STOCK ROOTED/UNLOCKED 4.0.2. So essentially, revert to stock, unlock/root, then flash that. You'll lose root unless you have an app like Rootkeeper.

I'm unlocked and rooted so just go back to 4.0.2 the flash . What would happen if I tried to flash over the leaked 4.0.4 just wondering?

Hope one of you guys can help me here. I'm new to messing with the Nexus, radios, etc.
I downloaded the file from Google's servers and placed it in the internal storage. I'm am stock 4.0.2 and rooted. Nothing unlocked.
Can I just boot into recovery and install from there? Will everything be erased?
Thanks in advance.

Did you see my thread? You're not unlocked? I'd unlock and make sure you have CWM or a custom recovery.

Gonna give it a look now.

EDIT:

Got ClockworkMod and made a backup. Going to install the official update that was pushed from Google.
Didn't know there was an app that keeps root. Thanks for pointing that out.

Running me some new basebands! Will test out in my dead zone classroom tomorrow! Great job everyone for working together to get the most up-to-date info on this. I had to keep constantly checking my phone to see what is the latest news while I was studying for my finals. Once again, great job everyone :)

so if we have installed wallet on our own do we need to uninstall it for the update to work?

When I read this initially I didnt know u were talking about having to revert to 4.0.2 to flash the ROM, i thought u were saying u had to revert to flash the RADIO, and I happened to be reading this AS my radios were flashing to the new ones.

I bout near had a heat attack :(

Just get DT's package. It's either here or in zero's guide (check the OP of his guide or the last page or so). Flash it. Reboot. Victory.

Yeah, I already flashed back to the 4.0.2 radios and flashed the new 4.0.4 ones, but what about the bootloader? is it the same one that was in the leaked 4.0.4 build?

I just got off of the phone with VZW tech support. They insisted that the Galaxy Nexus handset has not even been released in the United States yet, therefore it is not possible for any updates to exist.

I believe the rep's name was Peggy

Peggy lost the gig with USA Prime Credit and works for Verizon now?

On a more serious note, it is waaaay to early to say anything for sure, but after flashing DT's zip with the latest radios and bootloader, my internet browsing from my desktop (tethered through GN) is definitely snappier.

I hope this was not already answered, I tried to skim through all 6 pages to make sure. I am unlocked but not rooted. Will the OTA update still work? Or should I lock it back down? Again, I apologize if this has already been answered

You need to be unlocked with CWM recovery flashed. Make sure you are stock 4.0.2 unlocked with the recovery. Then just flash away!
