This evening I was running home - a run I know is about 3 miles. You can see from the image that the map is fine, but for some reason the distance is recorded as 6 miles in S health! Does anyone know what on earth is going on?

I can't help unfortunately, but damn what a pace!! Haha

Maybe it recorded on both your phone and the watch... doubling the mileage? maybe?

I think you can go into the S-health app on the watch and click on a workout (not the "play" button) then scroll down to view log and look at what the watch recorded.

I think there is a way to set the phone to do watch only in the phone app? Just guessing.

thanks ClintRo. unfortunately the data is the same on the Gear itself. I didn't have the phone on me when I was running so it couldnt have duplicated for that reason unfortunately. xda forums seem to suggest that these inaccurately record pace which screws it all up. it's strange because most of the posts on here have no problem with it. I have seen suggestions that installing endomondo/US Record eliminates the problem and that therefore it's Samsung Health itself not the Gear S3. any thoughts?

I've been having issues with the GPS signal itself. And have come across many posts suggesting the use of edmondo or something else besides S health. So I think you may be on the right track thinking it's something with the S health app itself.

Endomondo has the same problem recently. It's random though. Before I save, the distance is correct. After I saved it, the summary doubles the distance. I have contacted Endo yesterday and they said they are aware of this issue. Hmmm, but S Health does the same thing...?

Well I took the plunge and went through the hassle of a reinstall, and I have to say it seems to have fixed this issue for the time being. All they have to do is fix the sleep tracking now
