I returned my TB yesterday as well. I waited this long for the Bionic why not wait a few more weeks...

you would expect it to get better battery. nvidia has tons of experience in designing power-efficient chips.

I would like to see an nvidia phone actually.

IN RESPONSE TO FRENCH AND THE BIONIC HANDS-ON VIDEO.

Display at full brightness, WIFI on, playing video with god knows what going on in the background because the guy's been demo-ing that phone all day and the battery doesn't even twitch. With a 1925 Mah battery, and the rest of the battery efficient hardware; if you have any idea how to manage an Android phone, keeping the battery at 12-14 hours should be cake.

It's all speculation.
I have an HTC Incredible, and I am not happy with the battery, and on a good day if I've got my WiFi on, screen at full brightness and I'm chugging through showing off my phone, I'm happy if I don't burn 10% in 2 minutes. On the same good day with moderate use I can usually get 9 hours but having a car charger makes it last no problem.

In summary, the Bionic looks to be an impressive machine for the Android fanatic who wants speed (comment moi) and the every day user who wants their day's worth.

This is what I'm hoping for. I want a phone to last as long as I do...with room to grow.

LOL! I'm not touching that one! :)

Haha...let me clarify...I want a phone to work from when I take it off the charger in the a.m. to when I'm ready to put it back on the charger in the p.m. when I go to sleep, and I want to be able to use the darn thing for at least 1.5 years without worrying about memory and processing issues.

:D

Before you know it they will be making electric cars that dont have enough range to drive more than a few miles from your home without fear of having it lose power on you and dying leaving you stranded.
they do this already, its already hard to get good life in electric cars but a few miles is an understatement, the tesla roadster can get 200 miles on a charge, but that charge takes a long time, electric cars are a good comparison for this.

WE NEED A NEW KIND OF BATTERY
the kinds we have are pretty weak, there is a huge potential for more energy storage, ask all these companies to create a more efficient battery rather than less powerful phones. the batteries are becoming the only limitation, pretty observable if you notice all the talk about battery life now with these. better battery=more power and longer life.

though i would say its ridiculous that the thunderbolt shipped with such a small battery and such a non-attractive case for the extended battery. it would have been easy to design a battery that was a little bit bigger, or even one that takes up more than just a cube would work for me. they should spread the battery out on the back of the next gen phones and then for upgrades the battery won't make the phone almost 2x the original width.

also i have the thunderbolt, its easy to turn off lte, and i don't think im gonna turn it on till volte, 3g is as fast as i need. dial *#*#4636#*#* : go to phone information : set preferred network to CDMA auto (prl) or CDMA only, depends on your area and im not sure of the difference, theres also EvDo only and LTE mode, i'm unsure to the EvDo setting, but the CDMA works like a charm. to enable 3g in a no 4g area dial ##778#, password is 000000 for edit mode, under modem settings im pretty sure i only changed Rev.A to enable, and i enabled 1x diversity, so far since i have done this it has fixed all my problems with it. i get service everywhere and internet everywhere now, the fast boot also works everytime, it didn't work once till i changed this up

i got the thunderbolt cuz the droid 2 is the most glitchy thing i have ever owned, this one kills the droid 2. i also don't have a bunch of flawed motorola software on this. it feels more open, and less locked down. i'm assuming since its motorola the bionic will be full of "surprises" like why they don't release an estimate for battery life. i'm interested to see that, my thunderbolt lasts from 9am - 5pm then it goes to 30% and the screen dims(my choice).

The screen is what destroys the thunderbolts battery life. if it was an amoled the battery life would be impressive. the display alone takes up 77% of the battery. the amoled displays take up much less than that. i also mainly have my screen off, listening to music through pandora or poweramp, i also use the app tabs for an hr some days, as well as some minor facebook browsing, and Internet perusing(stumble) and games too, the battery doesn't suck, but if you can't set down your phone then go for the incredible so you don't have the display constantly dragging down your battery. btw anybody with an incredible, stick with it, hold onto that until you actually see a better phone for usability, i have yet to find one.
