Bionic ICS Q4?

Whatever, I've waited this long.. what's a few more weeks, months.. my phone does what I want it to do and is set up the way I like and it works. I'm not going to get all upset over a new OS. When it comes it comes. This phone has to last me a long time.
Secret is, don't ever get your hopes up in the first place.. be happy with what you have.

Famous last words.. :);)

I'm going to wait for the OTA, because I'm like that. But, with ICS can you tell it using the dual cores now?

Honestly, I've been running ICS so long now that I don't really remember how sluggish GB was in comparison. :D But ICS runs the way this phone SHOULD run.

Week 1 Bionic owner here. Never swapped out for any issues.

More of a glass half-full guy.

Well, honestly, the only reason I care about the update is all of the data drop issues.. It can get ridiculous sometimes.. I understand that I can keep it on 3G, but I paid for a 4G phone.. I WANT the faster speeds, I WANT what I paid for.

Very much so, as well as the boost to 1.2 GHz speed. If you do simple browsing and such, you may not see much of a boost because they don't use much power to begin with. I can tell when it comes to the speed of opening apps, and the 3D tests in Quadrant that show the frame rates during the tests are a fair bit higher. I also have Android Assistant, and the idle processor usage is about half of what it was on GB due to the extra core and speed. Even if you don't notice it up front, things do run faster when able.

I got my Bionic a week ago because I dropped my Thunderbolt in the crapper. I must say even without ICS it has been a wonderful phone to me. I didn't realize how BAD the Thunderbolt really was until I got my Bionic.

I too dropped my thunderbolt for the bionic. And I feel the same way haha.

The change wasn't out of the blue. The (NEW) Motorola VP of Product Management has been talking to Bionic users on Google+ and people kept asking for an update on the web page for updates and that is what they did. They updated the dates.

Here was the response you would probably be most interested in reading.

We have a plan for Bionic. I am currently solidifying things to ensure we can publish it, commit and follow up. I think you guys have gotten a raw deal and we could do way better. But you are one of the top few things I worry about when I look at Upgrades.

I remember that but, I was just hoping that the "plan" they're trying to "solidify" meant we might get a surprise in the form of 4.1 after ICS released this month. I guess not

Changes to any corporation take time. Changes to a corporation as badly run as Moto takes even more time. Add to that, VZW being a major PITA about approving our update, and you have a situation that frustrates everyone except VZW. Take Punit at his word. He is trying *VERY* hard to make this situation right. Moto is just as frustrated as we are right now.

This just annoyed me too much. I have been holding on for the OTA, expecting a soak test at any minute. So I put the leak on my phone. Not sure why I waited. If I had known 2 months ago how easy it was and how much better it would be..I would have done it sooner.

Rooted yesterday so now it's just so much nicer.

Hang in there guys and gals. Once this Atrix 2 update gets out of our way, we're up next. Figure OTA in about 2 to 3 weeks finally. What a nightmare this has been.

You know, it would be funny if all of us were on leaks, thus not getting the OTA update notice and keep griping about delays even though it's been out under our noses. Not that that would actually happen, but something to think about with more and more users giving up and installing a leak.

Not that I have found.

Faster, holds data connection, easy root with motofail, better asthetics.

I got used to performing my manual "workarounds" to make this phone work. You have no idea how nice it feels to just have it work like it's supposed to. If you haven't installed the leak..do it. It's easy and your phone becomes your friend again.

How do you sideload it. Mine wont go back to. 902 since. 905OTA. Want the 4.1 download ( jellybean ) on my bionic which is stuck in. 905
