Bionic prices/deals

Unfortunately, this didn't work for me. I just called *611 and asked if there were any promotions but they said nothing other than the $100 NE2. Wonder if only certain reps can offer or only certain accounts are eligible. Did you select certain options from the menu or say anything in particular, other that asking if there were any promos available.

I am also curious to see if you said anything special.....the tech at the store said my boyfriend only had a $30 credit for his New Every 2.

He is going to call them today, and I can post back the details.

I did this twice. Once in July with my daughter's Charge. When I was looking into the Charge, a rep offered it to me & said that he was one of the few reps that could do it. I opted to wait & ordered it the next day. I asked that rep about it and he was able to give me the same deal. So, I tried asking for promotions when I bought the Bionic. Got a really nice young lady who initially said no. I told her I would wait & try Costco. She placed me on hold & when she came back she offered me the free month. Both times, I reached a South Carolina call center. I don't know if that matters.

I am not sure how the NE2 is tabulated. I had a BB storm with unlimited text/data & 900 minutes (?). I also get a corporate discount through my job. Don't know if that matters any.

I just asked if there were any promotions & the rep offered me the free month. I don't know if it was because I had gotten the promo before. But even today when I called *611 & told them that several people on this board had purchased the HDMI dock for around $50, they offered to match it if I could provide them with a name of a verizon corporate store that offered this deal. She even called 2 local stores in my area but neither did. Again, I got a South Carolina call center, so I don't know if that makes any difference.

When I called, I just said I'm looking at the Bionic and I heard about some kind of free month promo that I can get with it and he said, Let me check and then 1 minute said that yes, there was one.

Just saw a thread over at droid forums stating that all verizon phones that Radio Shack sells will be $100 off of the contract price starting tomorrow. If this is the case, then i'm heading over there tomorrow to get my Bionic! :D

Seems I'll be going to Radio Shack or Best Buy (price match RS) to get my Bionic and plan. My question is, are there any perks to buying my plan/phone from BB over RS? I have a RS near my house, so that'd be much nicer.

I know this is an old thread, but I didn't want to get flamed for starting a new one when this one existed. I also know that the Bionic is on its way out, but I really don't need to have the latest phone, especially at the current prices. I just need a phone that can reliably make and take calls without losing audio like my charge. I hope the Bionic has put its connectivity issues to rest.

Anyway, is $50 for a new Bionic, car cradle, desk dock, windshield dock, and dual car charger a good deal with the Bionic on its way out and the chance I am taking that the connectivity issue still exists?

Thanks.

I love my Bionic. That price is a steal. Even if it's on its way out, it is a fantastic phone. I've never had issues with mine - box stock - no mucking around with its innards. I'm all thumbs electronically - I would mess it up for sure if I tried rooting/flashing.

Just a little nervous about going through a third party retailer. Its a retail chain, but I don't want them to mess up my unlimited data. When I went through part of the check out process, I was given the option of all of the available plans for upgrades and the last option is to keep current plan. Unfortunately, the option for 250 texts for $5 was not listed as an option on the retailers site, but I was able to keep it when I went to Verizons site to see what an upgrade would cost me there.

I had the same concerns you did, but it worked out fine.

When I bought mine from Tiger Direct a month ago their website had an option to "keep my unlimited data plan".

When I got the phone in the mail it had a notice on the top that said "Don't call Verizon, call our number!". I did that and they knew all about grandfathered unlimited data plans. It took 5 minutes to activate and my plan didn't change.

And I got the Bionic for $29.

I had been looking at the Bionic since soon after it was released. Wanted to try it but, alas, was not eligible to upgrade yet so I watched and waited. I just happened to go to the Verizon site on February 29 and noticed they were having a "Leap Day Sale". I called to check if I could upgrade and found out I could for an "early upgrade fee" of $20. Well, considering the sale price for the Bionic was, believe it or not, $0, I jumped on it. No tax, free shipping, grandfathered data plan and all. Couldn't be happier with my Bionic, especially for $20!:)
