Bionic's still coming, is defintely new hardware - XT875

Anyone else bothered by the fact that my dx is getting the same benchmark scores as the droid 3 with no overclock. I feel life going to the bionic is going to have a marginal performance boost.

Benchmarks aren't always a good indication of phone performance. I think the dual core will help and also you have to take into account the Qhd resolution brings down scores if that is what you are looking at.

I'm not bothered by it at all. I'll reserve judgement until I get my hands on the Droid 3 and take it for a test drive or I will go check out some good videos (which I haven't done as of yet)

Jasper can you link me to some GOOD Droid 3 videos showing the UI and handset in action. I can't find anything good that shows the handsets performance.

Gracias amigo

But what if he does have something useful to say? Even trolls can have something informative to share at times. Thats one reason I have yet to block anyone. He has been part of a few good convos before.

I don't think we will have to worry about that after looking at most his posts.

Did you checkout the moto website. Shows every function of the phone. Apps, gallery, web browsong etc...

Yes but you were talking about hands on video ck style lol.

I can't locate any. One I found was removed at the request of Motorola mobility.

the resolution has a VERY minimal effect on these scores.

No it doesn't. It has a pretty large effect. With HTC's dual core phones, they were able to calculate that had the phone had a regular WVGA resolution, their scores would be the same as with the Tegra 2 phones.

I thought so that's why the iPhone 4 scored so low.

Smartbench accounts for the resolution of the devices being tested. Look it up.

but are benchmarks really trustworthy? seems like they could manipulate the results of the testing to achieve a desired effect
