Bixby?

I've used Dragon by Nuance for several years and phones now. It interacts with whatever message app you use (Bixby doesn't) and it can post to Twitter and Facebook, although I've never used it for that. It can dial the phone. You can set up your own wake up words. I wish it did more. Like, it can't take a note for me. If Bixby used any app, I'd use it. But for now, because I don't use any of the default apps, Bixby is kind of useless.

For automatic stuff, I use AutomateIt. I'm still figuring out how to get Bixby to do a set of commands with one phrase but it works a lot like AutomateIt.

I just disabled all things Bixby with BK Disabler. Couldn't be happier that I don't have to deal with something I don't want.

Bixby wins by a landslide! Great video! Besides in depth phone control Bixby us also great for setting reminders and taking dictation.

I love using bixby. The voice activate doesn't work all the time however. I use the button. But it almost always performs the task I ask. Very convenient for me

Yeah I tried out bixby and it worked really well for interacting within the phone. Trouble is - it's a hell of a lot slower than if I'd just used my finger, so not worth using!

I like using it, but mainly just building Samsung pay points at the moment. For those who don't like it it will get better.

. From custom commands to full contextual actions.

The Quick Commands area is my favorite. I love being able to say one thing and have it do many. When I say "Good Morning" I have it set to tell me the weather, read my calendar appointments and turn off do not disturb. Its great stuff

If I want to open and send the text message it wouldn't open Textra, my default app, only the native messaging app. That's not going to work for me.

ONE very important thing it does, and that it will unlock your phone with password of your choice, make a call and put call on speaker all hands free.
This may come in handy in an emergency.

Bixby is really good, when it comes to things like setting reminders, adding personal commands and stuff on those lines but then Bixby Labs is kinda hit and miss, hopefully Samsung Works on that, Google Assistant is the best thing there is to search things, be in the know. On a Side note Samsung's stock keyboard is Trash!!!

This is what I have observed. Bixby is good for phone settings and do tasks like tasker. Google Assistant is good for more like internet stuff and getting /fetching information from the net.

package disabler, turned Bixby off. no inadvertent button pyshing. I do not want to talk to my phone so no Bixby, GA, Siri or any of 'em.

You do know that Samsung now lets you turn of Bixby Home right? And if you dont want voice, you can just not set it up? I turned off the stupid home shortcut because i kept pressing it when i wanted to turn down the volume, but i do keep Bixby Voice on.

If it has to do with your phone use Bixby. If it has to do with something that's not on your phone then use Google Assistant. It doesn't have to be an either-or proposition. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. An artificial assistant that combine both would be the king.

The thing that kills me is all the people in here reveling in their ignorance. "First thing I did was disable Bixby." Why? Why wouldn't you take a couple minutes to familiarize yourself with something that could potentially be extremely useful?

From simple to pretty complex commands, Bixby is the real deal. The only weakness that I found is its ability to correctly recognized names and then learn from those mistakes. My wife's name is Carla spelled with a C. It continually tries to search for a contact Karla with a K when I try to text. It's pretty annoying. But anything that has to do with the phone it's pretty Rock Solid
