Black Friday Release Date?

I'm not putting a whole lot of faith in what a tech says. I can see that day being valid though.

I don't know what kind of crazy moron would make the decision to launch a phone on Black Friday! That would just be stupid! Malls and stores are nuts enough ( I should know as I am one of the lunatics shopping long before daylight!) and to add that to the chaos is just dumb!

I really don't think they'd release a device like this at a discount. There are tons of people basically ready to write VZW a blank check for this phone...why would they sell it to all of them at a sale price?

I'd have to agree, considering that it popped up on the MAP(minimum advertised price) leak, @ $299 through March 2012. I guess it's not unheard of but it's highly unlikely to open @ discounted pricing for anyone @ launch.

lol don't listen to tech support. I told them i was also interested in the moto razr. The lady said "we don't make the motorola razr anymore, have you checked verizonwireless.com?"

I take it w/ a grain of salt, myself. Conidering Verizon rarely, if ever, informs retail employees about their upcoming releases any more than a week before an eminent pre-order period or an in-store launch is set in stone. Given their past, Verizon announcing a date to employees, nearly a month in advance, seems almost absurd.

Don't they know we need this phone before Black Friday so we can find crazy deals on the go? Also to keep us entertained while standing in long lines.

I do have trouble seeing it launch then just because of all the usual craziness of that day. Plus as others have pointed out, it doesn't seem likely that there would be a discount on that phone at launch and Black Friday is all about the deals. Maybe a free accessory or something, but just don't see it happening.

My guess is that Europe made a deal with Samsung (paid more money) to get the phone first on Nov 10, and we'll see it one week later on Nov 17.

Let's just assume for a moment that Europe could make such a deal (the idea itself is ridiculous). Why would they pay Samsung to release the phone one week early? What would that accomplish?

If the Amazon.co.uk date of Nov 2nd is valid for a UK launch, then that will look really bad for America. Google is an American company, and they won't even launch their own American product on their home turf first?

To us forum folk, Verizon's kinda looked bad all year. Bionic? SGS2? And now the Galaxy Nexus... So a quiet, late Nov - early Dec release seems "in character".

Oh anticipation! I'm gonna have to do what I did when awaiting the SGS2: shutter Tapatalk for a few weeks and live like a normal person :p

I would not want to go out to Verizon on Black Friday.

No one wants to go to VZW on Black Friday. Which is the reason why Verizon is releasing it that day. Just like Friday afternoon is the worst day of the week to release a press release.

If Verizon releases this damn phone in December, Google and Samsung will look stupid with egg all over their faces after saying "coming in November." I have been with Verizon forever but if I was Google and this happened, it would the the very last launch of a vanilla phone I would do on that carrier...period!

This will likely be my last Verizon phone. In two years I'll look seriously at AT&T. They do a much better job than Verizon when it comes to phone selection.

Verizon is too invested in jabbing their customers out every penny. I'm surprised they haven't launched their own OS yet.

Just more speculation. I could have written that story or twitted that, means nothing until Verizon gives us a date.
