Black or Platinum

So i got the Platinum model yesterday and I've only ever had a black phone. I was curious what thw consensus is? I am very OCD when it comes to scratches and such. Does the Platinum model hide scratches better? I have nit seen a black one in person to know for certain if I'd like it. VZW could order a black one and have it in 2 days.

From what I've seen on this forum, the black one shows fingerprints like nobody's business. So, if you are OCD, you made the correct decision.

99.9% of the time I always choose black phones but when I had my G6 I so wished I'd went with the platinum. It's an absolute fingerprint magnet and impossible to keep clean for long

Yes the platinum will hide scratches and especially fingerprints better then the black.

The aluminium on the black is anodized a darker colour, so would show silver underneath if the scratch is deep enough.

I didn't think the platinum looked all that good until I saw it in person. Then, I wanted it, but the store only had black (and my wife had decreed I had to walk out with a phone that day). I think I actually would have gotten the orchid gray GS8 if the G6 hadn't been 50% off. I just really didn't want yet another black phone, and the fingerprint visibility was another factor. But the $$$ won out and I got the black G6.

I have to say, though, that I am glad I got the black. The all-black front looks better, especially given the little black border between the actual display and the silver bezel. I use the black theme with as many black backgrounds as I can (hate being forced to use a white background!) and the visual effect is striking.

Ultimately, I don't think you can go wrong with either, they both look great, just in different ways.

I have both. My personal daily driver is the black one. Both look gorgeous though when cleaned up. But yes, the black shows significantly more fingerprints and will show more scratches. I think the black is a bit more "stunning" when side by side and cleaned up, but that platinum is NICE too.

Between my wife and I, we have both. I'm rocking the black, she has the platinum.. I like how the black look on top.

Thanks folks! Gonna keep the Platinum this go round. It is different than the black I typically get but it is a gorgeous device and is working flawlessly. With my luck id exchange and get a lemon or something.

Yes that's correct.

Personally I liked the black. It would be in a case but I wouldn't want the contrast from the screen to bezel. But hey, I'm boring like that lol

I like the look of Platinum alot (have always had plain black), but the front glass is reflective enough without the extra silver behind it which is like a mirror. So I went with black.

I went with the black. As much as I like the platinum color I want the black front to make the bezels melt away. I always use a case so fingerprints on the black model aren't an issue for me.

The back of the platinum looked better but I always put a thin (Bear Motion in this case...no pun intended) case on for scratch resistance and handling so that didn't matter. The black hides the edges of the screen better so that's what I chose. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I really like the platinum, but as the user above me stated, you cannot go wrong with either.
