Black screen of death

My Flip 6 screen has gone completely black. I could get it back with a hard reset (volume down start button) But not anymore. . It was random at first but now it's full time. The cover screen still works. I've tried all of the tricks mentioned in a few YouTube videos, nothing. It appears this is a Samsung wide problem. Many people are saying that when they take the phone in for repair they are being charged hundreds of dollars because Samsung says they must have damaged the phone. Anyone else having this black screen problem?

I had this problem on and off with my last Z Flip. The issue was the hinge sensor went bad so the phone didn't know it was open. Run the Diagnostics (swipe up and search for it) and see if that is your issue. If so, it will require a screen replacement.

This is the first that I have heard any mention of this issue and I follow a number of forums and websites (such as SamMobile). I had the Flip 3, 4, 5 and now 6 and have had no similar issue myself. I think that Samsung should replace your phone as being defective. I am sure that this is very frustrating. Good luck!

This happened with my Flip 3. Your hinge sensor has likely gone bad. Only solution is a new screen, which can be hundreds of dollars. I ended up getting lucky and trading mine in.

Did you by chance drop it? It happened to me with flip 3. Dropped it right on the hinge then it went black.
