Black spot in camera?

I have the same problem in my note 3 , we damaged the camera sensor by pointing it into bright objects , we have to change our camera sensor ,. luckily i have an warranty

i have the same problem, i just realized it because i was looking at the photos on my computer, i have a samsung galaxy ace

Hi I have a Galaxy S2 which I've had for over a year and I love everything about the phone..last week the same thing happened to my rear facing main camera, a brown spot right in the middle of my lens, I take loads of photos with my phone so I thought I might have to go and buy another model as they don't make the S2 any more. Anyway today I thought I'd try something and it worked..I took out the phone battery and with the back of the phone removed, I used the nozzle on my vacuum cleaner on high over the camera sensor and lens. The camera unit is meant to be sealed but obviously not totally as these spots must be tiny specs on dust over the sensor or lens, anyway the vacuuming worked and the spot is no longer there and I'm very happy I don't have to find the money for a new phone. Try it and see, hope it works for you too. :)

Guys. the main camera is so easy to replace on the s3.i used to be a Samsung engineer. YouTube how to change it and the part is really cheap to buy off eBay and will be a quick fix. as long as you don't break anything they shouldn't even notice u opened it if u send it off the in the future. so don't worry about the warranty being void.

Hi
maybe vacuume cleaner works for some of the models but not for the water risistant ones!
I have a S5 and have the same problem. a 3 centemeter circle have apeared on the rear camera and when i try to take a photo or capture a video the circle in on them.
I tried cotton swabs , vacuume cleaner , reset camera , reset factory but still the problem there
any idea?

Welcome to the forums!
any idea?
Sounds like there's something wrong with the camera module. Your S5 should still be under warranty so contact Samsung (or your carrier) and get it replaced.

Or, as the previous poster noted, order the part online and replace it yourself.

i had the same problem 3 months ago, i was pissed about it because it ruin my pictures, but just last month, it was already gone, i'm not sure why or how but i ain't gonna complain anymore. yesterday though, i dropped my phone and went to the camera and saw that the black spot is there again but in a different place. this got me pissed again. i hate how this problem on most phones isn't resolved yet

Your problem is dust behind the cover glass. Not sure what can be done.

AC App on SGS3

I have the same issue with round dark spot in viewfinder when using camera or video. It is darker in center, gray on edges. No plastic film on lens, cleaned lens, rebooted the ph, checked all cam settings but it is always there, in every pic and video. I have the SM-900H unlocked Galaxy S5.

I have the galaxy note 3 and i have a lot of these spots and the quality of the camera is terrible now i thought i was the only one.

The Note 3 is super easy to disassemble, everyone.
  • Pull off your back cover.
  • Remove the battery and stylus.
  • Unscrew back plate (small phillips head).
  • Gently pry off back plate.

Bam. Clean lens in a dust free environment and you're good.

All you have to do is use the base of your palm and knock that evil dirt speck around until it's off of your camera sensor. Hit around the camera area of the phone, not too hard, but not too light. This just happened to me and i fixed it in less than 5 minutes its very simple and you don't have to worry about getting a replacement or anything.

I just noticed this yesterday. The main camera on my s3 has this dark spot in the center. It shows up on the screen when using the camera app and becomes a part of all pictures. I've cleaned the camera glass and inspected it closely under a magnifying glass and see no scratches or marks on the glass. Any ideas?

Having a similr problem. I'm having like 5 to 6 normal size dots on my camera. Even on the pics taken by the camera.

Yes on my Galaxy it looks like some kind of reflection of the lens like a water bubble it's very annoying! Did you fix it yet? I'm sure you probably got a new phone by now. I do too but the camera really sucks worse and so I keep this to use the camera and there's no way I'm going to walk around taking pictures with my tablet. Not only do the cameras suck on them but they just look really stupid taking pictures

Did you fix it yet? It's not dirt, It looks like the lens reflecting itself . But why?

Terrible indeed the camera in general really sucks the color and everything else there's always some kind of dark side shadow or if something's white it'll be like like this weird off yellow color it's just horrible!
