Blue Box around Screen when Texting, what is this, why? *pic

I'm a new owner of a Moto X and keep having this happen when attempting to text. Don't worry about the location of the keyboard, that was something I was trying that didn't prevent this from happening. When this box shows up it seems that I cannot touch the keys that I intend on touching. Instead it senses it as the keys above or in proximity.

The picture should describe what I mean better than I can. This is an actual screenshot, it is what I see when it happens. It occurs no matter what keyboard I am using but I am primarily using portrait orientation when I notice it.

Whatever the stock application is. US Cellular is the carrier (in case that matters for installed software).

You have the zoom thing turned on under accessibility? Triple tap zooms the screen.

I bet this is what I am doing because it's when I am trying to delete something. Any short way to turn that off?

*edit - Magnification Gestures. Found it. thank you. I'll spend some time with the manual so I don't have such obvious questions.

Yea sorry I didn't know the name off the top of my head. Was getting ready for work and was going to update with the actual name once I got in. Glad you got it sorted out.
