Bluetooth and notification sounds

I came back to android from an iPhone but when using my LG Tone+ headset I get alerted through my phone speaker too. I don't care to let everyone hear my alerts. I can put my phone on vibrate but then I get no alert audio at all. I tried Soundabout but it does not work on the s4 by unchecking the notifications to speaker options.

Any suggestions?
