All, when driving I almost always have my phone connected to the auxiliary port to listen to music or podcasts. If I were to use a Bluetooth headset would the audio switch to Bluetooth as soon as I connect the headset, or only for phone calls? I don't want to go the headset route if I have to power it on for phone calls, then power off for listening through the car audio system.

Bump. Anyone using both the auxiliary port in your car plus a Bluetooth headset at the same time? Would prefer not to have to order in return the headset if it does not work properly.

I do the same as you and yes I have always jumped to Bluetooth when a call comes in.

Thanks for the reply is. So is your bluetooth is powered off when listening through the auxiliary port? Or is it on, but not connected to the phone? Or does it play to both the headset and the port?

For me, i start with bt off. When call comes in, i tureen it on and put it in. It pairs in plenty of time to answer call. When it does answer, the audio via plug is muted. When Carroll is complete, audio stats back up.

I keep my Bluetooth on, the music and navigation plays through the plug and when I get a call it switches to Bluetooth when it rings, when I hang up the call music starts through plug again

What brand of Bluetooth headset do you use? What you think that matters?

I use a moto silver elite I don't know if all Bluetooth do it as I've only ever used the elite with the maxx, bit I figure they were both made by moto so it would work well together. Its a great Bluetooth
