Can you leave the Bluetooth on but make the phone invisible to other devices? As matter stand I need my phone to work in the car so have to have Bluetooth on permanently. However, this means that whenever I travel in somebody else's car or visit a building or even friends the phone is trying to pair with other devices which is affecting battery longevity.

Other phones I have owned have a setting to stop this from happening. Does the A5?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums. In later versions of Android the device was visible so long as the Bluetooth screen (the one where you see all paired devices) was open. I think your A5 works the same way.

It does work this way but that means the device is constantly searching for new devices to pair. In other words if I enter a location where there is a Bluetooth device my phone is scanning in the belief I want to pair it with another device thus affecting battery life. Is that correct?

Yes, it can affect battery life. But the scanning stops once you exit the settings G's screen for Bluetooth
