bluetooth connection issue

Hi,

When I got my Grand Prime a few months ago, it would connect automatically to my car's bluetooth every time I started the engine. Now, however, something has gone wrong, and it won't connect at all unless I restart the phone. After a restart, the phone will connect for a day or so, then it stops connecting, unless I do another restart. Never had this problem with any other phone.

Any ideas for a fix? Using version 5.1.1, latest available for this phone.

Thanks,
b

Thanks for the reply. No joy, I installed the Bluetooth Auto Connect app but no joy, the same problem persists. Any other ideas? Or maybe I need some special settings on the app?

Thanks, I have no power saving modes on, no battery saver or RAM booster app. I put the phone into safe mode and bluetooth appears to be working at the moment. However, it always works for awhile after a restart, let's see if it lasts in safe mode. If it works properly in safe mode, I guess the problem must be in one of my user-installed apps. Any other apps that may be suspicious?

That can be hard to determine. If you have any manufacturer- or carrier-installed apps that supposedly "optimize" anything, I'd try disabling them if possible.

3 days in safe mode and still working, guess now I need to somehow try each app one-by-one

After 4 days in safe mode with no bluetooth issues, went back to normal mode and lost bluetooth after about 10 hours. I've tried uninstalling user-installed apps one by one, still no luck. Does safe mode do anything besides disable user-installed apps?

I don't think so. Although I'm not sure what happens in Safe Mode to preinstalled apps that have been updated. So if you've uninstalled absolutely everything that you installed yourself on the phone, then you could try uninstalling updates from the preinstalled apps.

I'm about ready to give up, have tried uninstalling apps and updates to about the maximum extent possible, yet the problem persists (in normal mode, no problem in safe mode). I have found a semi-work-around: instead of restarting the phone, I can get bluetooth working, at least for several hours, by putting the phone into airplane mode for a few seconds, then back to normal mode. Am I the only one having this problem?
