Bluetooth connection staying on in charging case

Well that’s awesome to hear! Good for you! Please let us know if the replacement buds fix the issue that you’re having.
Now that the replacement buds are on the way mine have been working perfectly ever since I cleaned the contacts yesterday. I failed my Occam's Razor philosophy.
The only problem with getting a replacement is that companies tend to use refurbished items instead of brand new, unused product.

ha, yeah, isn’t it funny how that happens! Good for you! Hopefully your brand new pixel buds work perfectly then!

Yeah, though I doubt those are brand new. Probably refurbished previously retuned. At least those will be under warranty as well.

Yep yep that is for sure! Let us know what happens!
Well I received my placement Pixel Buds replacement today. The case is cracked! See attachment. I'm surprised I was able to get close enough to be able to get a good picture of it. So now the calls and texts start over again.
I think I'm going to keep my original because those have been working perfectly fine since I cleaned the contacts.

Oh damn dude I’m sorry to hear that! Call Google and have your case still open with them and tell them what happened!

A quick update. Trying to cancel the return of my first set of buds and get a return authorization for the replacement has become a cluster ****.
Apparently that must be beyond the tech support's scripted scenerios. I have spent several days explaining the situation over and over to several support reps. Now it's been kicked up to a supervisor whom I haven't heard from. Grrr! I've spent several hours on chat with them. A phone call would have been easier and more efficient.
As an aside. Did you know there is a very tiny serial number inside the case located in the right bud charging pod? Yep. I actually took a picture of the number with GCam and it came out clear and easily readable. No macro lens needed.

Well, good for you! Good for you being persistent and consistent with Google tech-support even in these tough situations and scenarios! Like I said, overall, my pixel buds and the Charging Case and the pins are pretty good overall. I do find myself pushing them down a little bit on the metal pin connectors inside the case, but it’s not horrible. Not yet at least.

After cleaning the case and bud contacts I just drop the buds into the pods and instantly the charge starts. I don't have to push the buds down. You might want to get these returned, having to push the buds down onto the contacts might ruin those in the long term.

Yeah, that’s what I’m realizing now as well. When I put some sanitizing wipes on my charging case/buds, the metal charging connection is much more stable. The trick is you just Gotta keep up with it.

I cleaned mine with a q-tip and a little bit of water. I squeezed as much water out of the tip. Google doesn't recommend anything with alcohol.

Yeah , I’ve done that once or twice. Usually at work for use one or two hand sanitizing wipes and just clean the whole kitten caboodle. Takes a couple minutes and it does a pretty good job.

So here is the update. Below is the latest email response from Google tech support:
"We cannot cancel your current replacement request since you already received your replacement device and since your request is to return the replacement Pixel Buds that you received instead of returning your original Pixel Buds, that is why we need to consult your case to our senior specialist."
It went to the senior specialist on Thursday and I haven't heard a thing back except when I instigate communication.
The replacement I received is cracked on both sides of the case.

MHMMM how very interesting...
Another update. No update. I still haven't heard from this phantom Senior Specialist. It been almost a week. This is how the great Google treats it customers.

Damn, I'm really shocked to hear this! I'll be honest, when I had my Google tech support case open, they were very responsive to me, and got back to me pretty quickly.

Hopefully final update.
After a couple of days of chats and back and forth email aplenty I decided to send my first set back. Was tired of this whole mess.
Low and behold I received a phone call this morning from the chap I had been emailing. He informed me I can keep my working first set and send the replacement back. He was very apologetic and said all things are good. Sooo...happy day!

Ha ha Ha I’m so so glad to hear that it turned out happy for you! I hope you have better luck with them now. Mine are still for the most part working.

Thanks. I really like the buds. I mainly use these for work calls and the sound is a lot better and louder than my Plantronics 5200. I only wear one at a time and are so comfortable I forget I'm wearing them.
I would like to see noise cancelation and a bigger battery in the next version. I'm used to the 5-6 hour talk time and exceptional noise cancellation of the Plantronics. Being able to wear one bud at a time and a quick swap when the battery needs charging isn't an inconvenience.
Thanks for the support through all this crud.
