I hope someone can help with this. I use a doogee u11 tablet and connect my Bluetooth hearing aids. After doing a system update the aids still connect fine and work during calls on WhatsApp but don't play any sound from games or YouTube etc anymore.
The setting to play media through them is on. I have done a full factory reset to try and solve but it was the same after that. When I click "audio will play on" and choose the aids I just get a spinning circle and it just continues to play through the device.

Any help much appreciated as this is driving me mad!

Welcome to Android Central forums. Just a few questions to begin with.

What brand, make and model are the hearing aids?

The system update was for the tablet, correct? Was this an OS update, security patch, or what type of update was it?

How did you perform this update? Was it an OTA, manually, how?

While the device you're working with is an Android your question may be a little too specific to find anyone with actual experience with that device, who also is using hearing aids, and may have recently updated. My advice would be to get as close to one of the devices as you can vs. an open forum that discusses Android in general.

Doogee has a support page, here, that might be a good place to ask a question, either directly about the recent update or in general about connecting to hearing aids. I would imagine that they have trusted moderators or community members that would know the device and it's updates better than we would.

I would also recommend seeing if your hearing aid brand has a forum or support page. I would look that up for you but we don't have the information needed to do that.

XDA, another Android device site, has a Doogee forum, here, that has some recent posts, ironically with the most recent being "Don't buy Doogee devices" but others that are more recent than threads here at AC.

Alternatively, casting a wider net can sometimes be the ticket. There are a few thousand members here, with a handful helping to search for answers to member questions, where someplace like Reddit has millions of readers with so many willing to chime in on topics you might just find that other person out there who both uses this device and connects to it with hearing aids, maybe even the same brand you use. You can find a search for U11 topics here, with the most recent being 21 days old.

I hate that I couldn't help more. Best wishes and good luck. Let us know what you find and hopefully we'll see you around for other discussions.

Thank you for your detailed reply. The aids are phonak brand. The update was OTA. I know the problem is with the tablet and not the aids as I have the same problem with my Bluetooth headphones and the aids work fine on my Samsung phone.

My suggestion to look for your hearing aid manufacturer's forum was not to suggest that an issue with the hearing aids. Here at AC you're likely to find many who use tabs and other Android devices but not as likely to find people who also use hearing aids, a key component to your question. Where as at a forum for hearing aids you'll find almost everyone uses them and a good number will also use tabs and other Android devices. Perhaps leading to an already solved solution.

Anyway, I searched for your brand and found they only appear to have a support page with FAQ type topics. It hints at them offering a chat feature. I would look through the setting of the app for them, if they have one it's probably there. I didn't see a way to post specific questions though. You can see their page here.

I've fielded hearing aid question in the past and have come to find there is a large community out there for users. Using your brand I found this group which does appear to allow individuals to post their own questions, here. The list that shows up in the link is a list of posts with the tag Phonak. Disclaimer, I don't search every topic and leave that up to the OP. There are several more online forums and support pages where you can search for topics or post questions that can be found with simple Google searches, this was just the first I came across.

Which Phonak model hearing aids do you have? Phonak makes many models, just like each Android phone manufacturer makes many different models. Knowing your exact hearing aid model will make it easier for us to assist you.
