Bluetooth pairing issues Samsung epic 4g touch sII sprint

I purchased a set of motorolla s9-hd headphones for my samsung epic 4g touch sII phone, and I have not been able to pair them together. At first I thought something was wrong with the headphones however they pair just fine with my husbands iphone, and my mother's old blackberry 8700 model. I have had some problem with connecting them to another pair of headphones, my bluetooth earpieces as well. To get them phone to connect, it required me to turn the phones bluetooth on and off sometimes turn the phone on and off, then eventually they would connect. I have also not been able to pair my acura tl 08's bluetooth to the phone. Sorry for the long post however I was wondering if anyone out there has had a similar problem, or fix for this?
