Bluetooth Trusted Devices with OS X

I'm trying to setup bluetooth trusted devices on my Moto X so I don't have to unlock the phone when I'm near my computer, but for some reason, the bluetooth connection keeps disconnecting whenever the phone goes to sleep. I tried using my Jambox as a trusted device, and it worked fine.

Anybody know how how to fix this?

I tried to pair it with my Nexus 7 but it immediately disconnects. I haven't found a solution yet.

I think Bluetooth will only remain paired if you have some sort of a audio/media profile open not just data transfer function, I leave it connected to my windows 7 laptop using headset and speaker phone option and it remains unlocked as long as it is connected. Attached a screenshot too from my laptop ..
