Just what is it with Bluetooth? I just got a new Phone, a Pixel 4a to 5a, and where a Bluetooth enabled device (Blood pressure cuff/monitor) would talk to the 4a I had a time getting the 5a to pair. Real PITA. Musta tried a half dozen times. And they were next to each other.
Why? Because I couldn't transfer apps between phones the 4a went into the laundry and didn't survive.

As suggested in your other thread, it may have to do with Omron not having updated their app enough yet. There's also a link in that thread to the Omron support site, suggesting certain steps for the PIxel 5. https://forums.androidcentral.com/a...id-12-pixel-5a-omron-connect-app-et-alle.html

Additionally, there have been some Bluetooth issues noted with Android 12 that the December update was supposed to fix -- however, the December update itself has been causing other problems with some phones, so it's been put on hold. You may need to wait until the January update (or whenever Google finally straightens out the December update problem) and see if it connects better after that.

Bluetooth has always been a weak link in my experience, with every phone I've ever owned. I'll be glad if/when they find something better

I finally got the Bluetooth icon to go away - I had to turn it off manually.
The struggle with the BP monitor was that I couldn't get it to enter pairing mode easily and I really don't know how I managed to do it successfully. The instructions say to hold the pairing button down for 3 to 5 seconds. But that didn't seem to work.
I think what succeeded was manually entering pairing mode on the phone first _then_ on the Omron BP Monitor. Once they were both happy the handshake was accomplished.
But I still had a "Pairing with Omron" symbol appearing in the upper screen bar until I manually turned Bluetooth off in the phone.
I didn't have this problem with the 4a Pixel so it was something of a surprise.
My conclusions are that both Omron needs to update their app and Google needs to tweak Bluetooth on the 5a.
