I'm not completely sure if CWM has anything to do with it. I think its actually part of the kernel that Bonsai changed to swap out the Sammy boot screen.Im sure this information is lurking somewhere in these massive forums, but search as I might I cannot find it.
Im a nerd and want my sprint boot screen back :-[
Is there any way to easily flash over the original with CWM?
Is anyone else having their Epics with Bonsai Rom freeze?

Nevermind, I've got it too work. I read a post above showing that you can use any modem you'd like, but according to bonsaigeek, you have to be on EC05 or EB13.
BTW the Rom works great. Best ROM I've got my hands on so far!
I've read over the entire Bonsai website and I can't find a mention anywhere of what Android version their ROMs are based on. Shouldn't that be one of the first things you tell people?![]()
Hi folks - I am having 2 issues with Bonsai 4.1.1:
1 - I can't connect to 4g. It looks and looks and I live in LA where it has rolled out and I was able to connect prior to rooting and putting in Bonsai. I even upgraded to EE03 to no avail.
2 - My battery life is really bad. I did clear batt stats before, but this hasn't resolved the issue. I am trying JuiceDefender now but it hasn't made much of a dent yet.
Any help on either would be great!
Seems like after a few weeks of using this ROM my phone is beginning to slow down at times. I don't know how this ROM works but can you use another kernel with this ROM like genocide?
Paul, do you know if root is in the Bonsai Kernal or ROM? I believe root is held in the genocide kernel. You sure can. Naturally Randy and the Bonsai dev team have developed what they feel is a good kernel & ROM package but that doesn't mean you can't flash a different kernel and experiment. I personally have had zero problems and great battery life and speed from their package. I don't even use SetCPU half the time, I forget to reinstall it and things work great.

I just reflashed Bonsai 4.1.1 after my phone wouldn't reboot anymore (looped). I also loaded a theme, first "simply blue" then "matted blue." In either case, my market FC's all the time.
Can someone help me? What needs to be done to fix this?
If its just the Market causing this then goto Settings>Apps>Manage Apps>Market (clear data/cache)
See if that does it.. Otherwise you may have to boot into CWM and clear cache/dalvik cache and reboot.
If that still doesn't do it then you may need to reflash the ROM again. Regardless it sounds like this happened once you flashed your first theme so it has to be something related to those themes because the Bonsai ROM hasn't changed or modified anything with the Market (Vending.apk) to cause conflicts.
