Boot Loop - Bricked? :(

Yeah, I was trying. Anyways... all the images that i'm trying to send over from my nandroid fail? (remote: image update error)

yet every other image i've tried from the internet works fine, maybe i should try your nandriod?

i think from an ruu zip... i have so many pc36imgs laying around, its hard to tell, i should have been more organized going about this, but its hard when you want to see if the next thing you try is going to work.

I understand.

If you're on hboot .76, I would load the boot.img from the HTC Engineering software build for the evo. Then do the same with that system.

Haha, thats a mouthful, I don't currently have that I believe, where do i get it from. And yes, I am on .76.

What rom were you on before this happened and what were you trying to flash when it bootlooped?

Downloading now, I'll try to run it first i guess.
Anyways, I've never heard of unzipping an exe. How does that work? Can I actually open an exe in 7zip/WinRar?

manwiththeevo, actually I had flashed MIUI after CM7 nightly was acting strange. About two hours into MIUI acting normal, the thing just suddenly crashed and reboot, and thats when it went into the cycle. I hadn't flashed the rom for a couple of hours when the boot cycle actually started.

Yeah, these ones you can. You can do it with exe's that uncompress and then just run a program it de-compressed. If you have WinRAR in your shell you can just right click on it and go to expand here or expand to, etc.

ohhhh boy.
I've screwed up now.
I can't see my screen... its a dark grey screen... whenever the screen used to be white. when i go into hboot... its a grey screen again, like the entire thing.

All I did was run that exe. I'm freaking out.

A heads up on that RUU - if it runs successfully and your phone reboots but the screen doesn't seem to work it's because you're using a different screen then what was available at the time, but we'll deal with that when we get to it.

No way, this is fine.

with your phone connected to your computer, type adb devices.

edit: (from the tools directory, where adb lives)

MIUI must have busted something. What im thinking and thats just it, a guess, is that maybe it had a bad format script when it formatted your system.

Im about out of ideas really, you could try flashing a nandroid from CM7 instead of sense. maybe try flashing a netarchy universal kernel in boot.img form.

But it doesnt add up, an RUU formats all partitions and reinstalls. Something has to be broke, otherwise a pc36 img would go through too. What is it bypassing when you load stuff through bootloader?

Edit- Grey screen? As in the backlight is on but no LCD? Try holding volume up + power to see if you can get into fastboot.

i haven't been able to get adb to work since i've started all this, it just says "List of devices attatched" and then its empty
