Booted my device, it started to update, stuck at 5% - error

I have a Honor 8 and when i try to boot it, it starts to update the emui and freezes at 5% with a error message "Please insert otg/sd card or check APP files in 2mins."

No matter what I do it boots back to that error message. I have tried booting in safe mode, held power and volume up/down for 20seconds, I even pushed into the small hole on top of the device with a pin.

Had this phone for 2 weeks and now im stuck here. Any suggestions?

Ahh that doesn't sound good. What happens when you try to plug it to power?

Ok I got it to work. I had to remove the SD card and then just wait, it said that it can not find the update files and then let me reboot normally. Really scared me.

And it means that your SD card may be corrupt.

Did you have some other install files on that SD card that the phone may have tried to run?

Glad to hear it was a simple fix! If it was a cheap card,I would discard it just to be safe

It was fairly new with nothing on it really.
