Bottom Button Light Leak?

Just hope when I go up there the next one isn't worse.

I'd hope not. I'd definitely turn it on and check while in the store, but I don't imagine it's such a widespread problem, since it doesn't seem like everyone is reporting this as an issue. I hope you get it worked out. There's nothing like getting the one out of 'x' that's a little weird to put a bad taste in your mouth and ruin the excitement of a new device. :(

Replaced with a new one. Best Buy replaced it but I think they thought I was nuts. New one is fine, no issues thus far.

Ya, I have the same problem :( It's on the right side too. Also the m e and part of the u dont light up fully for menu , sort of a shadow effect? its the same for the other buttons they are not fully lit the same. Is it like this for all T-Bolts or did I get a faulty one? I know it isnt a HUGE deal, but I just dropped $250 on it and would prefer one without any problems.

Also when the bottom is lit up when you look at it upside down or on an angle there are two lights one on the left, one on the right that are lit up where as the rest is not its just those two semi sized lights. Granted this is only when the bottom screen with the home, menu buttons and what not are lit up. Not sure if you guys know what I mean? Like isnt there supposed to be one FULL light going across it? Not just one on the left and one on the rite? Overall its a little anoying, since the only problems I am having is with the bottom but just trying to see if this is common or a faulty T-Bolt.. FYI I know I am being a little anal lol

BUMP so I assume this is not a wide spread problem? Because it really gets on my nerves lol. I love the phone so far, battery life is personally fine for me, but the screen leakage really bothers me, always notice it :(

The EVO was famous for this problem, too bad HTC can't figure out how to seal a screen in. Here is a picture of mine I have it in two spots. Click to enlarge. Same ol crap. Its really not a defect its just poor construction on the part of HTC this is nothing new. They are all the same don't bother exchanging it.

I have a tiny little spot where I can see light leaking thru if I hold it right...that doesn't bother me at all. My concern is dust getting thru those little openings

I notice this morning I have exactly the same thing. The Home and Menu button are only half lit. I think I didn't see it yesteday because of beign the daylight, but this am sittign in the dark room it stuck out like a sore pig.

I have noticed some slight leakage as well. When in pitch dark there is a small speck (hardly noticeable). Each of the buttons should have its own dedicated LED or a better distribution of light... you can tell there are only 2 lights for the 4 buttons.

This is only a minor complaint for me.

I am bringing mine back in a few for an exchange, if I get the same thing on the next one I will deal with it. However, I want to see if I can luck into one without this problem. During the day the light is hardly on so it dont bother me, but I was doing alot of texting last night and it bothered the heck out of me LOL. I have ocd so it was driving me up a wall. Plus I am a little paranoid that it could lead to dust getting in the screen :(

Hope mine won't run into this issue. If so I'll be calling VZW CS and getting them to ship another phone.

I wasn't impressed with the build quality at the Verizon store yesterday. By comparison, Moto makes beautiful devices. My X has a superb fit and finish in my opinion. I wish a hybrid phone existed - Moto shell, Moto battery and HTC internals. However, I'm still heavily considering buying the Thunderbolt due to the blazing LTE speeds here in Cincinnati.

I haven't had a Motorola smartphone since the Q, but my wife has a Droid 1 and I've used a Droid X and I really like the Thunderbolt build. It's a bit heftier than the X, but I really like it. To me it's hard to get a feel for the true quality of the phone when it's attached to something. I almost thought the same thing when I was messing with it on the floor before I actually got my own.

Yea not impressed with the lighting of those four buttons it looks half done...I'm not impressed with this phone

I think that all of the TB phones have the m and the e on the menu half lit but for me that's not a big problem too afraid to exchange for that because I might get something worse. BTW the lighting problem does this happen only if turned or should I be looking at it from a different angle

ugh think I looked too hard, I took it in my bathroom and turned off the lights and noticed on the left and right side at the bottom where screen connects you can see a little lighting I had to look really hard to notice this IDK if this is with all the TB's

A'men to the speed here at Cincinnati... wow

i will be at Fields ertel this afternoon turning mine back in. Menu an dHome key only partialy light up..

Question...I have this issue, but it doesn't bother me. I was just wondering if this can cause technical issues or is just an aesthetic thing? Cause if it will cause a more serious issue, I'd want an exchange; is aesthetic, I'm not gonna worry with it.

Thanks!
