Brand new LG G6 CAME with pop up ads from Best Buy

Solution not a question. My brand new LG6 phone from Best Buy CAME with annoying full screen pop up ads! After doing all of the things that suggested I do with the internal settings they kept poping up every time a flipped a screen or 30 seconds to a minute.
Solution: I did a factory reset and now ALL CLEAN!

Do you think Best Buy has contracts to receive phones (this one was BRAND NEW in unopened box) that have 'special' software delegated to them?

Welcome to the forums. That's a new one to me. I mean, I knew about some ads from Amazon phones, but this one from Best Buy is new.

Hey.. look for and app called AD Display and disable it. It will stop the pop up ads! Its a system app, but theres no problem on disabling it.

Its an advertisement app.. It shows pop ups ads, depending where you are or were you buy the fone.

Welcome to the forums! I'm sorry to hear about that! And I'm quite surprised that this came in a new phone from Best Buy. That's too bad, for sure! Have you contacted them to make them aware of the situation? I know you've since resolved it, but they should know you experienced this; and who knows, maybe they'll be nice and compensate you in some way!

Seems like Best Buy is doing shady business and pre-installing spyware apps. Common though, other manufactures and carriers are doing a lot of advertising already on phones. That's why I enjoy unlocked phones.
