Orginally had 2.3.3 LS670VZH SW. I tried downgrading, so I used LS670ZV9 and now a blank screen. I then flash the LS670ZV8 and after restarting the phone. The screen is backlit and you
can hear the phone sound the start up but remains blank. I have read many threads and know
theres a lcd hardware issue when downgrading so would it work if I could find the LS670VZH SW?
I cant find it in .tot form. I find recovery zip files but I can see the screen so I can do anything.

Can you viewthe screen with screencast? If so perhaps you can simply boot to recovery and flash the zvh update.zip

How can I place the zvh update zip if I cant view the screen? To have screen cast I believe
you have to be rooted which I am not. Thank you for your replies.

You only need root to control with screencast if I remember correctly. You can still use it without root just to view the screen. You didn't brick the phone at all. It's just you are using the newer LCD with old drivers. So just use screencast so you can see what you are doing.

Is there screencast software you recommend? Im finding alot of different software off google that doesnt seem to be for cell phones.

ok thanks for the replies. so with screencast, im should see my cell screen and do the update.zip and should get it back running or am I going to be jumping alot of hurdles. Thanks I post up later, hope to hear from you later.

Why did you downgrade? If you had problems with ZVH you could just go back to ZVD. Are you planning on rooting?

I did go back to zvd but still had the blank screen. yes so that i can use the cricket rom.
btw..what mode does the phone have to be in to start screencast?

Boot in to android, start screencast, then you can boot into recovery to do your update.zip

ok i did the "home & volume down & power and the screen boots up blank
so I assume its in recovery mode. I start then ran adb shell and get
"C:\Program Files\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>adb shell
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -"
Im using a youtube video to help me out in this process.

The Strokes...I am in the same boat as you as far as having a fully functional phone but having the blank screen.. I tried using screencast as well but no luck so I was wondering do you think that if tried force flashing another .cab file from here Index of /zefie/files/cell/LGLS670/roms/LGUpdater/cab - Persona Files if that would at least help us get our phone back..only problem is I dont know which one I need or which one would work

if someone could chime and let me know...

also as a last last last last resort iwas thinking of buying another optimus s on ebay with a broken screen and putting the screen from the phone i got now on it cuz like you I am using the phone on cricket...but i dont know if that would work...

What problems are you having with screencast? You should just need to start the adb server and run androidscreencast.jnlp. You should be able to see your screen then (but not able to control it).

So you are both trying to use cricket on your phones. I don't know much about that. If you need to be on ZVD for it to work then you should both just force flash ZVD to your phone and get your screens back.

yeah i am going to give it a try... also my evo pops up when I use the "abd devices" command but my optimus never does..and its recognized by my comp and it pops up in device manager as LG Android USB Device..is this because USB debugging isnt enabled..I cant enable it cuz i cant see my screen??

Yeah thats a problem. I think with a custom recovery debugging will be enabled by default... But I assume neither of you are rooted so you just have stock recovery. It's probably best just to force flash to ZVD. There are a few guides around on force flashing. I haven't done it in a while but its pretty easy from what I can remember.

THE STROKES... I fixed mine and hopefully what worked for me will work for you too..MAJOR THANKS TO hlxanthus and sfhub

I downloaded the ZVD update from this thread http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg...67361-how-simplified-unroot-return-stock.html and started at step 3 (it even has the steps for doing it blind) and I got my screen back only problem now is I still have a blank screen for recovery and even bootanimations but if i let the phone fully boot up and use the power button to turn just the screen off then press it again the screen turns back on and I CAN ACTUALLY SEE IT!!!

LMK if this works for you..

I only wish I didnt assume that I didnt have stock recovery still cuz I wouldve tried that alot sooner..

Deadset thanks for help too but luckily I didnt have to force flash the ZVD firmware..

I think it's because the update you used didn't update the stock recovery. So the stock recovery still has the old drivers. I am not 100% sure though. I haven't rooted this phone in a long time now so its hard to remember the common problems people were facing. If you are planning on rooting the newest Xionia has both drivers and won't give you the blank screen.
