I've read numerous posts of others as lucky as me that have cracked/broken their Turbo screen. Be sure to check your credit card policies. I have a Chase card, and they offer a Purchase Protection plan on purchased items - including phones. They offer to cover any repair charges on the item up to 120 days of purchase. I unfortunately started the process with Verizon for a free replacement before realizing this. It seems like paying the $125 for the repair, having the credit card company reimburse, and keeping the Droid Assurance for 2 years is the better way to go.
All this hinges on Verizon agreeing to not force your repair/exchange to be free under the Assurance plan.
