Brown leather Vs Black leather....Choice???

I have a minimalist case covering the back (to protect the camera lens)
So I haven't seen the need (or use) of the leather back. It's a shame but I can't risk having the lens scratched.

This is the backdoor I got, and I absolutely love it. Feels awesome in my hand. I got into the bad habit of removing the door at the corners, though, so the red is starting to fade a little bit at the very corners... So, people, make sure to use the little plastic insert for your finger nail!

I use a dbrand lens protector so I can sport the leather with no worries.

Me too. Notice that how it contrasts with the red when I use the red case? It would be more noticeable had I had the same lighting conditions as your photo, but you get the idea. Nice side effect.

Yeah I have red and brown also and it looks good with both of them.

Yes, the texture of the brown leather is similar to the maroon / red version.
