Another bug I found. I was able to drag the top down on a locked screen and display my notifications? Is this a security risk??

That is a feature. Now set up a lock, good buy feature.

Bluetooth fixed - Had to power down and battery pull post 4.02 update (thanks to prior poster who suggested it). Worked fine. Connects perfectly, phone, A2DP, transfers phonebooks, etc.

Turn the phone off and back on. Might be a side effect of the way android works. When apps go into the background they are remembered and lose priority. While the page is remembered the app could be closed if the resourses are low enough...

My Xoom will do this if a lot of stuff is running but it won't if there isn't anything running like after just turning the device on.

I may be having a similar issue - when I move to another app that was in background, I'm regularly having the screen go black and seem to hang, and I have to back out and then switch again.

Another "frustration" that I'm seeing (I don't know if it is a bug) is when reading an Exchange email, when you rotate the orientation from portrait to landscape or v.v., it sends you back to the top of the message, regardless of where you were.

I'm transitioning from a BB Bold, but I also have an iPhone 4, and iOS handles this much better - regardless of how many times you rotate the phone, you stay at the same point in the message.

If you're reading a very long email (I often get emails that are many pages long, even on Outlook), and rotate, it's very frustrating to have to start over and scroll down. I suspect that this is a bug, because I can't think of a reason why that is a desirable behavior.

Lots of problems with my g-nex

Okay, i love this phone, but a few things are happening that kind of freak me out i was wondering if anyone else is experiencing these things.

1.) If you have UI sounds enabled.. ie...click noises for anything you select on your phone screen. Something wierd happens, i was wondering if anyone can test this and tell me if their getting the same thing.

Please be somewhere dead silent. Click anything and listen for the UI sound... now wait a couple seconds, probably 3 seconds and then you will hear a feint "pop" after not doing anything in that time. The "pop" sound almost sounds like that noise when you have your stereo hooked up to something and you unplug it while its on..that hot "pop"??? i dont know how to describe, was just wondering if anyone could test and see if their gnex does that too.

2.) I dont know if this is related to #1, but if im listening to my gnex through headphones, the UI click noises will all be followed by a feint hiss. Also when i unplug the 3.5 mm jack, i can hear a different type of hiss through the speakerphone like 2 seconds later.

3.) This has happend to me 2 times now. I will not use my phone for an extended period of time..probably 2 hours ish... When i turn my phone back on my touch screen isnt working, i cant swipe to unlock or anything. But i can still hold the power button and get the power-off menu, or press the volume rocker keys and lower the volume / raise the volume. I have to pull battery to get it working again.

4.) My gps voice sounds terrible, it sounds distorted at no matter what volume i have my phone at

5.) Kind of minor, but lets say im in my car and running audio through my g-nex, when i unplug my 3.5 mm cable from the gnex, the gnex will make a hissing noise about 2 seconds after unplugging through the phones speakerphone.

i really dont want to have to return this phone, but i mean all these annoyances are really hard to live with. I hope someone can give me some insight maybe even tell me their gnex has a problem, so that im not the only one having these problems.

Re: Lots of problems with my g-nex

Pretty sure #1 is your speaker turning off. Mine does it too, although, like you said, it's only really noticeable when the room is dead silent. I'm pretty sure it's related to problems 2 and 5. Pretty sure it's cutting power to those components to save the battery. As for #4, I'm not sure if this is your first Android phone, but on both my Fascinate and my TBolt, the GPS voice was pretty terrible. I could barely understand the verbal instructions and constantly had to actually look at the screen to see where I needed to go. This is pretty much the sole reason I bought a car dock for my TBolt. Really can't tell ya what's going on with #3. Sorry :(

Re: Lots of problems with my g-nex

I just put my ear next to the speaker on mine and hit the home buttons and there is a hiss after the sound and ends in a pop, very faint but its there.

Re: Lots of problems with my g-nex

I know exactly what you're talking about in regards to #1. when the keypad click noises (Touch Sounds) are set to audible...after clicking something (pressing a button on the screen), you can hear a faint sound as if the speaker goes "tcshhh......" and then shuts off, making that "pop" kind of noise. it annoys me as well, which is why i turn off "Touch Sounds" so i don't have to deal with it.

Re: Lots of problems with my g-nex

i never realised #1 until you brought it up, i dont like that. sounds like my wireless xbox 360 microphone. for #2, i just put the speaker up to me ear and clicked on somethign and that hiss is annoying. i cant hear it without headphones but i plug my phone to my car to listen to music and i can tell thats going to piss me off. gps on the Nexus does sound dumb. sounds like old man that got the wind knocked outta him, really dumb.

i am kind of in the same boat as you. my signal is god awful and i really like this phone but dont want to return it but...

Re: Lots of problems with my g-nex

Okay thank god others are having this problem, i thought i was going bat bonkers for like 2 days.

I hope google addresses these problems, this is not okay. These problems werent even on my motorola droid 1 more than 2 years ago.

OH, one thing i forgot to mention, there is also a definite rattle from the volume rocker. If you tap a little bit harder on the top left side of the phone, you can probably hear it too. I know for sure there are others who have had this problem.

These quirks... i mean is samsung really this crappy? this is my first sammy phone and wow if this is how they build phones then gtfo lol

Re: Lots of problems with my g-nex

I get the hissing with headphones. I have with all android phones ive owned. The rest of your problens are not normal. You shoukd get a replacement.

Compass not working in landscape.

My Nexus can't seem to tell which way it's facing when held in the Landscape orientation. This is noticeable in augmented reality apps, such as Layar, or Google Sky Map. When holding my phone in the landscape orientation, and turning from side to side, the phone does not register any change in direction. When held in the "Portrait" orientation, it works fine.

I have tried the prescribed figure 8 calibration method over and over with no results.

Is this a know bug, or is one of my magnetic sensors broken?

My biggest concern at this time is the lag of switching from portrait to landscape mode and vice versa. The lag can be quite lengthy - as much as 2-3 seconds. I may have been a bit spoiled by the iPad 2 we have at home. That device seems to switch remarkably fast between orientations!

Seems like something that could be improved in a future update...

That's intentional. There are a lot of folks out there that don't like the schizophrenic way that iOS switches between orientations.

LOL. It is a feature then, not a bug! (But I still think it is too slow.)

I was under the impression that the lead time for changing mode was adjustable somewhere in the setting..... can't remember where exactly, though.

I notice that if I go to the netflix web site in any browser, the bar at the top of the site that contains the search bar for movies seems to be stuck where it is if you have zoomed in. You can't actually scroll over to the right to enter a search (when zoomed). The rest of the page scrolls, but not the search bar part. This does not happen on my Bionic or X. Maybe an ICS issue, but I have no idea where to report such a bug.

Exchange email account. easier to show then explain:

Any thoughts? Kind of annoying. The strange thing is the emails display just fine when you open them. And they are displaying just fine on other users 2.*.* phones.
