Bugs in Froyo

Im having problems with camera I take a picture and it doesnt save it also if I take picture the camera app force close

Boy am i glad i didnt update to froyo today. looks like they were not ready to release this OS , but '' had '' to get it out by summers end , in fear of riots, and sacrafices.lol , looks like i will wait , im good with what i have!

Dude its not bad at all, the update is a pretty good improvement over 2.1. This thread is a negative one, the froyo update has worked perfect for a lot of others. Give it a shot.

Very few of the issues listed qualify as true bugs.... most are user-specific issues. If you haven't uninstalled all task killers yet, you haven't done your due diligence :)

Can I have my 2.1 back, atleastn that played nice with launcher pro, I'm back to phil blur now

I noticed that after a reset/batt pull the calendar is set to dec. 31 1969 for a very brief moment, then jumps to the correct date. Same date as I get with my POP account..its like the POP is not pulling the correct date off the phone? Los like I will be at vzw tomorrow at some point.. Dang!

For some reason after leaving my phone on sleep for like 5 or more minutes when I turn it back on the brightness is brighter than it previously was, the setting says it is at 0% but when i move the slider around and it updates it becomes much darker(to the real % shown) Auto brightness is off.

Ive noticed that too, irking the crap outta me. Anyone else notice it? Any ideas how to fix it?

EDIT.

If you go to Battery Manager and go to custom battery saver you can see Display brightness. The marker for current display brightness shows that it's not all the way to the end. I double checked it to see if the current display is all the way down and it is. I'm thinking that could be a bug right there. Can anyone else confirm this?

I never used ATK, never rooted my phone, barely made any modifications besides Launcher Pro. With a software (Froyo) update + no extra apps installed + factory reset + reboots = the problems my phone is experiencing are 180 degrees opposite from how it was functioning under 2.1

I'm not experiencing user-specific issues - or a lack of due dilligence - I'm experiencing straight up software issues. These boards are starting to be peppered with issues that weren't there previously.

its still tons better then 2.1

Sorry to hear that. Which of the issues are you experiencing? What's currently installed on the phone?

For those of you having trouble switching from silent, vibrate and volume, try "Silent Toggle" from the market. It let's you switch between Ring (default volume on phone), Vibrate & Silent with one tap of the screen.

As for the screen lock, I can thoroughly disable the lock on my X or deal with the slider followed by pattern. No in-between. So if you don't like the slide lock, just disable the screen lock in your security settings.

I did another (3rd) reset and I'm now able to get my Gmail synced without a freeze up / need to reboot. I haven't downloaded a thing. I don't even want to download the Gmail update. Until I can send an email, make a phone call, and maybe get wi-fi to stay connected - I'm not adding anything to this phone.

I feel like I'm working with a really weak foundation with this phone right now. Going to proceed very slowly.

I just noticed this on my phone...does anyone else have this problem?

I tried make a contact shortcut on my homescreen for a contact that I have a picture assigned to. However, for some reason, the contact's picture does NOT show up. It just shows up gray with the outline of a person (as if there is no photo assigned). Anyone else notice this? Any ideas on how to fix?

The date for photos in my gallery goes all the way back to June, 2004. None of the pictures are older than late July of this year.

The screen lock slider is still laggy.

I like the speed and smoothness of the interface running Froyo.

I HATE the Froyo-Google Nav-Pandora issue. This has been an issue for a while and is happening across all phones running Froyo from what I can tell, this needs to be addressed.

I don't like the auto-brightness behavior in the car dock now, it used to work pretty good for me. Now it's pretty bad. It goes very dim when it's sunny outside. I expect it is because the camera is sort of pointed at the car dock, so it sees more dark than light from the windshield -- but this wasn't a problem before. I put the brightness widget on the home screen to work around it. Seems to work fine out of the dock for me.

I had my camera become inaccessible once yesterday, and that required a reboot. I also had one abrupt reboot while in Nav, but so far those have been isolated incidents.

Other than that, I'm pretty happy.

I had the same problem, tho I did update GMail yesterday just after froyo loaded. So I went to app manager and backed out all updates for Gmail and now the phone (and gmail) work fine.....

Anybody having trouble setting speed dials? I go in to set a speed dial, my contacts come up, I select one and nothing happens...aside from that, Froyo seems pretty decent.

Not sure if this was brought up: I use the built in Music player all the time. In 2.1 I was able to text, email, browse the web, etc while playing music with no problems. Since upgrading to 2.2, whenever I try to do anything like text or email, the music starts skipping. Then if I keep "multi tasking" the music app will actually lock up on the screen and the phone will not respond to any input but the music will continue to play.

I just downloaded Double Twist to see if it does the same thing. I liked the built in music player because it had the play controls on the lock screen so I didn't have to unlock the phone to skip a track or pause the song.

Wi-fi can't hold any signal.

I had to do a factory restore to get wifi's back on to stay on cause it was in an endless loop , wouldnt connect, then few minutes disconnect ,then connect back ,then disconnect ,etc. over and over, the dinc was staying on wifi's fine tho , but at least I got a cleaner copy , lol I guess :p ,I cleaned the cache, and then factory restore. Had to get nolock off the market to keep that slider lock off phone now tho

I noticed something with the Google search widget, that I also noticed on the D2 which I had for about a week before I got the X. SOMETIMES, after unlocking the screen, there will be some sort of "tip" or "hint" in that search bar. It's no big deal, since I can always remove the widget and just hit the "search" button on the bottom row.
