I need a small app to read, edit and send back some lines of text from a device connected to USB.
It seems that there is only this Android Studio to make this, so I installed it in my Linux laptop (i5/8GB RAM/SSD/Linux Mint 22.1)
It installed about two hours and consumed a huge chunk of disk space, After the installation it still wanted to install something more. The laptop was totally tied to this for next hour and it has consumed still more huge chunk of SSD.
After that I had a unfriendly program with no information, how to use it. Anything I tried took many minutes or, in the worst case an hour before it gave an error message.
It took me three hours to remove it, because I found nowhere an remove-program.
IS THERE REALLY NO SIMPLE WAY TO BUILD PROGRAMS ?
Some years ago I wrote simple programs with an BASIC compiler, but it has disappeared from the store.
There is some BASICs, but they do not compile.
It does not matter, if the language is BASIC, Pascal, C, C++, Python, Fortran, Forth or any other compiling language, I have used most of them.
