But WHY do you choose your resolution?

I hear a lot of people say they leave their screens at the factory default FHD+ and others that go WQHD+ just because they can. I suppose a lot of people stay at FHD+ because they don't know to change it. WHY do you choose what you do? Can you really tell the difference? Is there a benefit to FHD+ ? Let's hear it.

I have my S8 in the most basic screen and I really can't see the difference between it and the high power one. And it uses less power...

I leave it on FHD+ because I really can't tell the difference in it and the supposedly higher up setting.

I may bump it down to FHD tomorrow see how much a difference it makes to battery life. I have a black background so doubt mine uses much power anyway

Personally I can make a difference between FHD+ and WQHD+ with content on lighter backgrounds like text on white screen. I set it to the highest resolution possible and based on my past experience the difference in battery life is very small for my usage.

FHD because I just can't tell any notable difference than the QHD and it may may save more battery.

I keep it at WQHD+. I've gone back and forth and the difference in battery life is not significant. I don't notice a big difference if quality most of the time but considering it doesn't impact my daily use, I leave it maxed out.

I'd run it at the max. No point in buying the "top tier best Samsung screen + phone" and then dumbing it down.

Again, why buy a flagship just to dumb it down.

A lot of my family and friends say that's why they hate android and prefer iPhone because you need to turn off all the features to get great battery life.

It's someone what true but I also have an XS and there are some features I turn off same with android but the DISPLAY will never be touched.

Can I tell the difference, yes because I'm so used to it.

It's like someone buying an Audi RS5 and turning on ECO* mode. LOL *I don't even know of OS really an option.

Samsung makes the best displays on the market so why would I want to dumb that down in anyway? It's like buying a sports car and limiting it's performance to a "regular" car.

WQHD+ all day long, I don't care how it affects the battery.

Unless you're watching a lot of HD videos or playing HD games, why not keep the resolution on FHD? Especially when some people (like myself) can't tell the difference due to eyesight or other issues.

I wish someone would test battery usage at the different resolutions, hopefully that would prove whether or not battery usage is a factor.

+1 on battery usage test! Let's settle it.
