I am buying an HTC EVO 4G from craigslist for $210, with some chargers, ect.
So what would be your run through of inspection before you buy?
Never had a phone like this before, so don't know what kind of problems to look for.
I want to make sure this is a legit piece, I'm skeptical and anal about most things so am freaking out inside.

I wouldn't pay over $150 bucks for a mint condition Evo this day of age.

Call sprint and make sure the ESN is clear.

Just look it over for any cracks or damage.

Take cover and battery out, check the moisture indication circle/square on both phone and battery.

Make sure volume rockers work.

Hold volume down and power button together till you get a screen with three androids on skate boards appear. Near the top see if it says s-on or s-off. If it says s-off then it has been rooted and tweaked with. Id suggest staying away from it if you are new and not familiar with rooting and you don't plan on getting familiar with it. If its s-on then its not rooted and all stock.

Nice, very helpful. I do plan on rooting it and getting familiar with all that. Thats why i joined this community =]
But I would rather start out with stock.
Don't pay over 150! I thought i would be screwed if I went that low. I will look that over more.

Well think for a second. There have been 2 more Evo's released and a new one on the way. Not only that, its a 2 year old phone model. Oh the biggest one, they are discontinued or going to be very soon if they haven't stopped the lines yet.

I put a wanted ad on craigslist and ended up getting mine for $140. I'm very happy with it. Finding the perfect kernel fit is a pain though :)
