Buying the EVO with a new account, then switching it over...

ok...so here is the problem. The EVO is 449.00 at Sprint stores, and apparently will be MORE at Best Buy (which I didn't realize until after I did my BB pre order.) The Sprint store around here SUCKS and I don't feel like driving and dealing with them, but also am not going to pay the price that BB is going to charge. Plus, I already have my BB gift card and am guaranteed to get one on launch day.

So, do I just go to BB, get a new account with the EVO, then simply switch it to my current account / phone number when I get home and pay the cancellation fee? It's going to cost about the same in the long run, and will actually give me a couple weeks before I get the bill for the cancellation fee.

Seems like a lot of extra work, but may be the quickest and easiest solution. Anyone have any ideas, thoughts..maybe an easier way to do this. I am getting it on launch day one way or another!!

Actualy if you cancel within the first 30 days they will charge you the full price of the device if it is not returned to where you purchased it. So bestbuy would get their full cost for the phone. If you wait longer then 30 days you could do that with a $200 etf but then you have paid a month on that line which is extra cost too.

I would see if you can return your preorder.

hmmmm....the only thing I can find about that is this:

"If you do not return your device within 30 days of deactivation, you will be charged an Early Termination Fee of up to $200."

I cant find anything about what you said above, but if that is the case it would not work. UGH!!
