There’s a very thin line between ‘perfecting features and releasing them later’ and ‘playing catch-up’. With the iPhone 11, Apple is playing catch up. Huawei and Google’s night modes are as good if not better than Apple’s, triple cameras already working well on Samsung/Huawei/Xiaomi smartphones, most Androids have had good battery life for ages (compared to the mediocre battery life of the iPhone 6/7/8) etc. Their strategy is a clever one but the implementation in recent years has been poor.

When Siri and Maps launched claiming it was ‘revolutionary’ was understandable. Now? It has been overtaken by Google Assistant and Google Maps by a long shot. Bixby and Amazon Alexa are more or less on the same level as Siri in terms of day to day usage.
