Bye Bye, Note 10+, hello iPhone Pro Max XL

Actually, you obviously have never visited MacRumors....Android is mentioned a lot and bad mouthed all the time on there.
No kidding. And I think the Android regulars are a more cool with iOS than vice versa. My last phone was the Max and I spent alot of time at MacRumors. The back and forth crap is annoying.

Bashing each other is common on all websites/forums unfortunately. It's what it is and not everyone is reasonable to respect others choices.

I own both Android and Apple phones. There are things Apple does better than Android and Android does better than Apple.

Apple has done an excellent job with parts of their ecosystem, especially imessages. It works seamlessly across all Apple devices. Interface between other Apple users with imessages is great and what keeps me using an Apple phone. Apple core software on mobile devices is polished. I didn't realize how much I loved iBooks until trying to read books on my new Tab S6. There are too many epub apps in the Google store and most of them just don't measure up to ibooks.

I think Apple's hardware and design is outdated and that's why I love Samsung devices. Android devices have pushed the envelope year after year with hardware and design. I love the customization of Android and the OS is just flatout powerful.

With all that being said, I absolutely love my Note 10+ but can't leave Apple because of imessages, my iPad Pro and other apps like ibooks.

You’re a lot like me.
I’ve looked long and hard and haven’t found the perfect device or OS. I enjoy parts of both.

I had both the iPhone X and iPhone XS Max, so yes, I know what I'm talking about. FaceID doesn't work in the car, it doesn't work when your phone is lying on your desk, nor does it work when I wear hats/sunglasses. Tell me how that is superior to a fps?
...not to mention if you're lying down. FaceID doesn't work then either.

I have the XS Max as well and FaceID is still not close to perfect. I have instances where I picked up my phone and FaceID took at least 2-3 seconds to read my face. I'll take a hardware) fingerprint sensor over FaceID anyday. And then having to swipe up up to get to your home screen...it was just annoying sometimes.

Be ready for even worse reception on the iPhone. They still have the Intel chipset that is causing reception issues. My note 10 plus gets much better reception than my xs max did. Sometimes the grass is not greener on the other side.

This. My xs max had terrible reception. note is a big improvement.

Yep, I actually hated being on that site because of it. So much bashing.

Not true. It's always someone who still uses apple that brings them into conversation. If it wasn't for people thinking that Apple has some kind of prestige they wouldn't be mentioned as much. Not trying to get into a bashing debate but it would be nice when the iPhone isn't forced down the throats of those that decided to go with their main competitor instead.
Clearly it’s an android site. Then explain why fandroids bring up apple more than an actual iPhone users.

Because it seems the fandroids always have to justify their choices

1. In my experience AC forums is much more tolerant of opposing viewpoints (Apple) than iMore

2. Dude, this is an Android site. Of course there’s going to be a general pro-Android consensus here...likewise with Apple/iPhone focus forums being pro-Apple

3. The iPhone 11 phones just launched...why can’t we talk about iPhones? The vast majority of threads here are about Android, but it’s perfectly fine/normal to be talking about what the competition is offering.

I’m not sure that justifies it. It’s human nature in some I guess. Seems like a fan forum should talk about what they are a fan of.

A new phone was announced from Apple and people talk about it and compare it to what's out there. That's literally the purpose of these forums, to some extent.

Not talking about discussing, talking about mocking/hating. Seems different. Whatever though.

Cleaned some posts. Discussions can be had without insulting due to a difference of opinion.

FaceID has been pretty much flawless for me. I wore hats and sunglasses with no issues sorry you had issues with it.

I much prefer it to touchID and with the new iPhones it’s even better working farther away and at more angles.

Same from my experience. I can use with or without sunglasses. I don't have to use it in the truck because .. well .. Carplay lol.

Works for me with sunglasses .. in the truck I have Caryplay so really no need to unlock my phone but if I did... I just grab my phone and it works just the same as picking it up to use it outside the of car.

I've had a similar failure rate on face id and fingerprint. Face id is cool but I found I could be accustomed to either easily. I do wish there was some feedback for the fingerprint.... I'm guessing that's an upgrade away.

It's been documented here and elsewhere that FaceID works about half the time with hats and sunglasses.

And in the car you need to physically look at your FaceID to unlock your device. At least with a FPS, muscle memory doesn't require one to look at the display. I just hate FaceID.

YMMV, of course.

Would that be half the time with the same pair of glasses or is that more dependent on how much of your face is covered by the glasses?
