Calendar issue... sharing with wife

Setting my wife up with an android device. I have been using app called Business Calendar. Set this up on my wife's device too. We both have gmail accounts /calendars. So I add my gmail account to her device or to her gmail account... and although my calendar shows up on hers, because my account is added to her device, she can EDIT my calendar events /appointments. Which I don't want.

So the question is can we share calendars without having option of editing each others stuff?

I don't use that app, but what I can recommend is to get onto a pc, log into Gmail, launch calendar in browser, go into calendar settings, view calendars, there you can adjust the permissions for each individual calendar...
