calendar notifications

Friend has Galaxy 3 and her calendar notifications come up on a lockscreen similar to a phone call coming in. I hate my Galaxy 2 notifications as it only shows up on the drop bar and there is no quick way of dismissing.
Does Jelly bean give new notification style or am I stuck with this?

There's an app for that. I use Notify Pro. Allows you to choose how all notifications (phone calls, smh, Facebook, emails, calendar etc) should be displayed. For example, you can set Notify to allow phone calls to appear on locked screen while text messages don't. Your choice. Also can select "quick reply" for messages that appear and determine the length of time messages remain on screen. This allows you to reply without opening your text app.
