Calendar question from a webOS user

I am one of the many formerly enthusiastic webOS users now looking at a barren landscape. The best option, it seems, is Andoid.

I am concerned about losing one feature in particular. On my Pre I have multiple calendars all showing up as one. I have my Palm calendar, my Google calendar, and my wife's google calendar, as well as a sports calendar. If I put an event on my phone under my google calendar, it automatically shows up on my wife's Pre, and vice versa. This makes it incredibly easy to coordinate our schedules. If I want to keep something to myself, say a daily agenda check, so my wife is not bothered by unneeded alerts, I enter it on my palm calendar. Again, all my entries for both calendars and my wife's google entries show up on my daly calendar page. Will I still be able to do this with Android phones?

as to the sports calendar, it's an app that automatically adds calendar entries for all my sports games - teams, times, stations. I'd like to keep that ability too.

Speaking from a Sense perspective, the calendars show up with your different colors just like on webOS. It also has Agenda and Week view built in (you can also change the Day view to use a more Agenda like view than the time view). On my phone, there's a "PC Sync" calendar that is separate from the Google Calendars that I think you could use similar to how the Palm calendar operated on webOS (I think it's supposed to be used with something like Outlook).

(That said the default Sense calendar is ugly. I use Calengoo)

From my experience coming from the Pre, you should be able to. Google's calendar app syncs with Google Calender just like the Pre does. You may have to create a Google Calendar to replace the Palm calendar, and set it so that it's not visible to your wife (I think there are a couple of ways to do that, but I'm not certain since I've never needed to). The best way to do that may depend on how you have your calender sharing set up.

Hope that helps!

I just switched to Android from a Pre- as well. My husband & I have our own business and the calendar sync was a huge issue for us. We keep a joint Google calendar that syncs to both of our phones (he's still on a Pre-). I also keep several other calendars on different Google accounts and it works fine.
