Hi guys. Just picked up a note 3 for my wife. She's replacing note 2. On her note 2 calendar when she would set a event she would just put @(whatever time) in the subject line and it would create it for that time. On the note 3 it defaults to all day and doesn't adjust for time. Did they change this or is there a setting I've missed? Thanks

i guess its a bug in hers since no one here has this issue. I will exchange it if it bothers her.

Wish I had a answer for you but I don't. I will only state the obvious which I'm sure you tried already. Did you uncheck the all day event box? That's all I could see on mine. I have the option to check and Un check it. I'm sure you already checked that

You're proposing to exchange it for another Note 3, hoping for different calendar behavior? Or to exchange it for a different phone?

Are you using the native Calendar app? When I create an event with that app, there doesn't seem to be a way to specify the time in the Title (assuming that's what you mean by "subject line"). But the All Day box is unchecked by default, and there are From and To selections for the event's start and end times. That input method is better suited to a phone, because it requires fewer taps than typing the time into the title.

You can also give a voice command to Google Voice Search such as "Create calendar event: party at 3pm".

Yes I meant in the title. She would put meeting with Joe @10am and then hit done. When viewed in list view it would auto block out the time 10am-11am. She got use to that method on her note 2. It's not a big deal. I'm sure she can get used to it. By the way the all day is checked by default on her note 3. Is there a way to change that? Thanks

I can uncheck when trying to create a event. But when I go to creat another it's checked again. Is there a way to have it unchecked permanently? Thanks

I use multiple calendars, Gmail and Exchange. My default calendar is one in Gmail. When I add a new event it defaults to my Gmail calendar and uses the default preferences I have set in Gmail. The all day box is unchecked by default in my calendar. Maybe the problem you are experiencing is coming from the default preferences set in whichever calendar you are syncing with. Just a thought.

Is there a way to change that on the phone or do I need to do it from a desk top?

Depends, if you are talking about online calendars that you are syncing with to your phone, I would suggest doing that on a computer directly into the calendar in question. That would be far easier.

Sorry, don't know. Is this the native Calendar app? What method are you using to create an event?

Yes stock app. I notice when I hit the plus button to add event all day is not checked. Still have to add time though. When I tape and hold the day I want to add event all day is checked. Weird.

It seems they might have changed it. I noticed it the other day when I went to add an event. It sucks that they removed that feature as it was pretty handy and made adding events a breeze.

Oh ok. That sucks. My wife really liked that feature. Thanks for the response though. Appreciate it.
