Call logs

So when you go in the phone app and click on logs it shows logs of everything, texts included. I am originally an iphone user and since using that for 3 years it is odd to me it doesn't show just calls (switched over 2 weeks ago) . When in the phone app and on logs tab you can press the menu button and choose calls. But when I exit the app and go back to use it it changes back. I does anyone know how to make that setting stay where I don't have to select it every time I open the app? Or is it just something I have to deal with.

there is a way but it's reprogramming it somehow.

Re programming it like rooting the phone? I don't want to do that but wish the call log would stay just calls
