... but it seems like it's worth staying! There are many interesting discussions going on on this site, and I look forward to be a part of them. I am a gear-head despite not owning a whole lot of it. If anyone would like to know, my current phone is the cheapo Huawei Ascend G740. It's 3 years old and a shipwreck, so part of why I'm here is to find out which new smartphone fits me best. My budget is 400 Euros.

Welcome and enjoy! :)
Choosing a new phone can be difficult. What features are important to you?

Wise decision. :). Welcome to the forums! For that price I would go for the OnePlus 3 if it's available in your country.

Hi and welcome to Android Central. I'm glad you've decided to join us. :)

Welcome to the forums! If you're in the market for a new phone, it's the perfect time to look around! There are a few new flagships coming out soon, and of course, there are a lot of cool tech gadgets already available.

What do you use your phone for the most? Any must have features, like screen size, display type, camera, removable battery? What about your favourite apps? Do you watch any media on your phone?

I have never had a phone on contract, but that's probably what I'm looking for the most. I am a poor-ish student, so paying monthly is better from an economic view. The other alternative is to find a phone that has dropped in price, but still offers great specs and feautures. An important feature of my next phone is a 5,2-5,5 inch screen. I am leaning more towards the 5,5 inch territory, but my hands are small, and something like the iPhone Plus's are hard to grip. Anyway, the screen should have at least 1080p and I heavily dislike on screen buttons so that's a no-no (unless anyone can convince me it's better than capacity buttons). I hate thick side bezels, but it should not be too thin as I'm gonna use a case and don't want it to cover up the screen (I'm looking at you Samsung)

Removable battery is not a must, but it's always a great thing. Dual cameras would be cool, but I'm totally fine with one single camera as long as it's great at capturing pictures and video. Video is VERY important to me, and the phone should be able to film in 1080p/60fps and preferably slow motion too. My current phone has a shutter lag of 2 seconds, so my next phone must be snappy in ht ecamera department.

I am going for a monthly plan with 7Gb a month. I enjoy watching forums and playing videos now and then. Not much into social media. The phone should be able to handle graphic intensive games. The LG V20 is everything I want in a phone, except for the 5,7 screen and premium price. The price will most likely drop. LG G5 that was released earlier this years is already close to 40% cheaper that it's original price.

Hello and welcome to the forums at Android Central!

Getting a new phone on a budget is always difficult. We always want the latest but at yesterday's prices, that's a tough one.

Make a list of your needs and wants on a phone. Then a list with the phones, and their prices, that have those needs and wants.

That'll help you decide better. I'm in the USA and was lucky to get my GS7 edge in a 2 year contract with Sprint, so I got the phone I wanted for a lot less money up front.

Thanks. Are you returning it now that Samsung has stopped producing them?

Oh no, the Note 7 is the one Samsung is having issues with.
Like I mentioned before; I have the Galaxy S7 edge.

The GS7e has no issues and it's the best phone I've ever had.
So definitely not changing it for now.

Like he said, only the Note 7 was recalled, the S7 Edge is a great phone, and it's what I picked up up replace my wife's Note 7 that I just turned in.
