Camera app wont open

Recently my camera app wont open any more. When I launch it, it never opens and the dialog box "Unfortunately,Gallery has stopped" for a split second and returns me to my home screen. However, I can open the Gallery app without issue and browse my photos. I have seen other who have had similar issues, but none of their resolutions have helped me.

Environment:
- Stock image
- No root, no tinkering, standard build
- 4.1.1
- JRO03O

Steps taken so far to remediate the issue:
- Clear cache and data on the Gallery app...same symptoms
- Re-image phone with factory image from Google (using Nexus Root Toolkit)...same symptoms
- Boot into recovery, format file system, delete everything, re-image from factory...same symptoms

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Something else to add...

Tried installing Pudding Camera and it crashes and closes the second I open it too.

You could try a battery pull, have no reason to believe it will fix it but it can't hurt.

Tried that...I should have posted that as something I had already tried.

Another interesting piece is that when I open up Google+ messenger or Google Talk I no longer have the video chat option on either app. I'm going down the road that there is some hardware issue with the chip that controls the cameras.

A closure on this issue...I ended up visiting my local Verizon store and requested a hardware replacement for the device. The new phone is not experiencing the camera issue so I'm closing this one in my book as hardware related.
