Camera firmware update fee???

Still fiddling around with the new phone, went to the camera settings and there's two options, Check Version by Network and Firmware Update. Tapping either of those pops up "It will occur additional fee. Will you continue?".

Uh, no. Not if it's going to cost extra just to see if there's an update. The bit of Engrish in that popup message isn't too reassuring either. Hopefully that's something lost in translation instead of being written by someone who's first language is supposedly English.

I would assume they are referring to data fees and warning you it will use your network connection...
 
Tried it and it just downloaded "Samsung Apps" app. Had nothing to do with camera firmware as far as I can tell. Probably don't waste your time.

It downloaded and installed Samsung Apps, when I ran the firmware check after the Samsung App was installed, it actually downloaded and installed a firmware update for the camera.

Thanks, I didn't go back after the apps install. Did you notice and camera improvements with firmware upgrade?
