Camera issue help plz

For the past month or so a lot of camera issues have started, force closing was the first thing I know this has been known with ICS but this is still new I have had ICS since release. Now I'm getting upside down photos and the tool letting are upside down to. After awhile it will auto correct it's self. It's also freezing up ie: internet , home screen, my touch wiz. Any help besides factory reset plz. Thanks

So you camera app is acting up? Have you tried downloading a different app like Camera ICS and see if taking pictures with that causes the same issues? The other problems sounds like something wrong you either the OS or your device. Are you on the newest OTA?

Okay, before doing anything like a factory reset lets try to figure some stuff out. Couple of questions...

Was this problem occurring before the OTA?
Have you played with any camera settings?
Have you ever done anything with rooting your phone?

No rooting. Apps would force close like I would power cycle my phone turn off then back on and it would say eBay app force close and I'm not even running it. Camera settings are normal. To give you a visual idea I will take my phone out hit camera the camera app opens the main screen that is showing what you will take is normal but the short cuts to change settings will be upside down Im pretty sure this is a new issue since the OTA update

The bolded part above was kind of my gut instinct of what might have caused it. Sadly, the only way that I can think of that could fix this issue would be to factory reset it. I feel bad saying that but unfortunately that may be the only fix for it.

I know that may fix it short term I do have another s3 at home sent out in the mail from Verizon so I will wait till I get home to see about it

If you have access to another S3 give that one a try. If not the other option you could try if you are willing is use ODIN to flash the stock unrooted OS and go back to stock.

I am rooted/unlocked and I am running AOKP Build 3.

Biggest difference is it's AOSP instead of TouchWiz. It runs more like stock Google than having Samsung's skin on top of it. Personally I love AOSP compared to a skinned version of pure Google. I guess you can call me a purist when it comes to ROMs. I have always loved AOKP since I first got my GNex and they have some of the best devs around.
